About SoyMás Foundation Inc.

SoyMás Foundation Inc. is a U.S.–based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization empowering young mothers and women in poverty to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty through education, mental health, vocational training, and digital empowerment.

Founded in 2024 as an extension of Fundación SoyMás Chile (established in 2017), SoyMás Foundation Inc. bridges Latin American innovation with U.S. philanthropy to support evidence-based education and research initiatives that create opportunities for women to thrive and lead independent, fulfilling lives.

Our Mission

To ensure that every woman—regardless of background or circumstance—has the knowledge, skills, and support to thrive, transforming individual resilience into generational change.

We believe that poverty is not only economic but also educational, emotional, and systemic. By addressing these dimensions together, SoyMás helps women rebuild their lives through a holistic model rooted in education, mental health, and dignity.

Our Approach: The 360° Empowerment Model

At the heart of SoyMás’s work is a 360° Empowerment Model, a holistic approach that integrates education, mental health, and digital skill-building into a single, transformative experience.

Each participant—primarily adolescent and young mothers—receives access to:

  • Education and Vocational Training: Programs in healthcare, gastronomy, data analysis, and entrepreneurship prepare women for high-demand careers.
  • Digital Empowerment: Participants learn computer literacy, online communication, and digital entrepreneurship through the Digital Empowerment Lab, bridging the technology divide.
  • Mental Health and Trauma Recovery: SoyMás integrates psychological counseling, mindfulness, and community support to help women heal from trauma and develop resilience.
  • Childcare and Early Childhood Support: On-site childcare allows mothers to focus on learning while their children receive developmental support.
  • Job Placement and Entrepreneurship Support: Graduates receive help connecting to employment or launching small businesses, ensuring long-term stability.

This model empowers women to become self-sufficient learners, earners, and leaders—creating ripples of change that extend to their children, families, and communities.

Our Research and Innovation

SoyMás Foundation is not only a service organization—it is also a living research laboratory.

Through its Research & Data Lab, created in partnership with the Pontifical Catholic and Fundacion Duoc SoyMás studies the root causes of poverty among women—specifically trauma, educational inequality, and digital exclusion.

Key initiatives include:

  • Trauma and ADHD Research: A multi-year, peer-reviewed study on how trauma and neurodiversity affect educational persistence.
  • Dropout Prediction Model: A data-driven tool designed to identify students at risk of leaving school early, allowing for timely interventions.
  • Open-Access Data Sharing: SoyMás publishes research findings freely to advance evidence-based solutions across the education and social impact sectors.

By combining real-world programs with scientific inquiry, SoyMás develops scalable strategies that other organizations can replicate globally.

Our Impact

Over eight years of impact through Fundación SoyMás Chile and its new U.S. affiliate include:

  • 2,000+ mothers and their children served.
  • 73% of graduates re-enrolled in school or secured employment within one year.
  • 85% reported improved emotional well-being and self-confidence.
  • Hundreds of digital literacy certifications earned annually.
  • New partnerships formed with universities, corporations, and local governments to expand reach and sustainability.

Each number represents a story of transformation—a woman who has gone from exclusion to empowerment, from survival to self-sufficiency, from silence to leadership.

Global Programs and Partnerships

SoyMás Foundation USA acts as both a fundraising and knowledge partner to scale the Chilean model and expand research collaborations.
Key initiatives include:

* SoyMás Global Scholars Program

This youth leadership and cultural exchange program connects students, young professionals, and researchers across the Americas. Participants collaborate with Fundación SoyMás Chile to design community projects and campaigns supporting women’s education and inclusion. The program cultivates empathy, leadership, and civic responsibility among the next generation of changemakers.

**Digital Empowerment Labs*

Located in Santiago and Concepción, Chile, these labs provide free access to computers, internet connectivity, and certified digital skills training. Participants learn to navigate technology, complete online education, and access the digital economy.

**Women’s Poverty and Digital Inclusion Research Lab*

This U.S.–Chile partnership collects and analyzes data on trauma, education, and workforce participation, generating open-access research that informs public policy and global best practices.

**Workforce and Economic Mobility Program*

By providing technical training in gastronomy, data analytics, service administration, and other high-demand fields, SoyMás helps women transition from unemployment to meaningful, sustainable work.

Why Our Work Matters

Across Latin America and the United States, young mothers and low-income women face disproportionate barriers to education, technology, and employment.
Many experience trauma, economic instability, and exclusion from formal systems.

By investing in education and mental well-being, SoyMás Foundation addresses both the symptoms and root causes of poverty, helping women build lasting independence.

Every woman who completes the SoyMás program gains not only a new skill but a renewed sense of dignity and purpose.
Every child who sees their mother succeed grows up believing that opportunity is possible.

This is how SoyMás turns education into freedom and resilience into opportunity.

Alignment with Global Goals

SoyMás Foundation’s work advances multiple United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

  • SDG 4: Quality Education – Ensuring equitable education and lifelong learning for women and girls.
  • SDG 5: Gender Equality – Achieving equality through empowerment and leadership development.
  • SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth – Promoting workforce participation and entrepreneurship.
  • SDG 1: No Poverty – Eliminating poverty through education, digital access, and employment.
  • SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being – Integrating mental health and trauma-informed care.

By aligning with these global goals, SoyMás contributes to systemic transformation that uplifts individuals, families, and communities.

How Donors Make a Difference

Every donation to SoyMás Foundation creates measurable impact:

  • $100 funds digital access and internet for a woman to complete her training.
  • $250 covers one month of childcare for a mother attending vocational classes.
  • $500 supports mental health counseling and trauma recovery.
  • $1,000 provides full scholarships for digital literacy and technical certification.
  • $5,000+ helps fund research collaborations and expand global partnerships.

Your support ensures that women who once faced exclusion gain the education, skills, and confidence to transform their own futures and those of their children.

Together, we can expand freedom through knowledge and break the cycle of poverty—one woman, one family, one generation at a time.

Emergency Recovery for Mothers Wildfires in Lirquén (Chile)

SoyMás Foundation is raising $50,000 to urgently rebuild a Mother's and children community center in Lirquén–Penco, southern Chile, after devastating wildfires reduced much of the town to ashes, leaving families, without safe spaces, support services, or community infrastructure. In the aftermath of the fires, mothers are caring for children while coping with trauma, displacement, and loss. The rebuilt community center will provide immediate psychosocial support, child-safe spaces, educational activities, community coordination, and emergency response services critical for families navigating recovery after climate related disasters. This project is not only about rebuilding walls. It is about protecting children, supporting mothers, and restoring stability in a community that has lost nearly everything. With unrestricted support, SoyMás can act quickly, respond flexibly, and ensure the center meets the urgent and evolving needs of women and children as Lirquén–Penco recovers and rebuilds. Unrestricted funds are essential to enable rapid reconstruction, local sourcing, and immediate care for families in crisis. Your support creates life stabilizing impact now and long term resilience for the future. www.soymasfoundation.org/take-action/

It’s local talent development , gender inclusion, and long-term workforce resilience in one of the world’s toughest environments to live and raise a family.
