Spritely Institute builds, researches, and standardizes networked technology which put people and communities first.


Centralized social media is harmful to society. We are building a gatekeeper-free decentralized system. Our mission is “social media done right”, to put people in control of their own identity and build the technology that would enable a shift to collaborative and intentional security models prioritizing active consent. To accomplish this, we will build a new architecture for the internet: removing the necessity of client-server architecture, replacing it with a participatory peer-centric model.

Spritely’s technology is being released as free and open source software aiming for multiple programming language implementations and eventual open standardization. All of our work, ranging from decentralized identity, peer-to-peer user agents, decentralized social networks, encrypted and portable storage, and distributed object programming infrastructure is being built to enable a gatekeeper-free path where users and content are not tied to a specific server.

Extending and improving the lives of people with ALK+ lung cancer by raising funds for research and patient support programs.

**Our Vision**

We envision a world where ALK+ lung cancer is a chronic or even curable condition and the next person diagnosed with lung cancer does not have to live under the current stigma.

**Our Start**

\#SweatForBreath started as a grassroots fundraising campaign during Lung Cancer Awareness Month in 2023. After being diagnosed with Stage IV ALK+ lung cancer in November 2022, David Cornbrooks became keenly aware that he was benefiting from the selfless fundraising and awareness efforts of the patients before him.

The \#SweatForBreath campaign in 2023 became David, and his wife, Lisa’s, way to help the next generation ALK+ lung cancer patients.

\#SweatForBreath accelerated beyond more than just a typical fundraiser.  The initiative quickly evolved into a community of patients, caregivers, family, and friends seeking to make David and Lisa's vision a reality and the road to that vision more tolerable. People donated, sweat at the in-person cycle event, posted on social media, and helped fundraise through organizing group walks, selling art, "gifting" donations on behalf of clients, and much more.

Their success in 2023 compelled David and Lisa to officially transition the \#SweatForBreath campaign into the Sweat For Breath Foundation, operating through a fiscal sponsorship with Players Philanthropy Fund, a Maryland charitable trust recognized by IRS as a tax-exempt public charity under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code (Federal Tax ID: 27-6601178).

**Our Impact**

Since 2023, over **1,450 donors** have given nearly **$400,000** to the Foundation (or its predecessor campaign). 100% of the proceeds have gone directly to The Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Center in Baltimore, MD to support Dr. Vincent Lam’s ALK+ lung cancer research.

This support provided the critical funding needed to launch Dr. Lam’s clinic trial, which will evaluate the safety of a cancer peptide vaccine to prevent or delay acquired resistance in advanced ALK+ lung cancer patients currently on ALK targeted therapy. Dr. Lam’s vaccine is the **first ALK+ vaccine in the world** to be tested in a clinical trial. Dr. Lam administered the vaccine to the first patient **in clinic on May 13, 2024**!

The Sweat For Breath Foundation

CETI is a nonprofit org applying advanced machine learning and gentle robotics to listen to and translate whale communication. 

Founded in 2020 as a TED Audacious Project, the organization’s science team is made up of the world's leading artificial intelligence and natural language processing experts, marine biologists, cryptographers, linguists, roboticists and underwater acousticians. CETI’s research is taking place off of the island of Dominica in the Caribbean.

In the late 1960s, scientists, including Dr. Roger Payne, a principal advisor of CETI, discovered that whales sing to one another. His recordings, Songs of the Humpback Whale, sparked the “Save the Whales” movement, one of the most successful conservation initiatives in history. The campaign eventually led to the Marine Mammal Protection Act that marked the end of large-scale whaling and saved several whale populations from extinction. 

All this by just hearing the sounds of whales. Imagine what would happen if we could understand them?

WHY WHALES 
Sperm whales specifically share traits strikingly similar to humans. They live in matriarchal and multicultural societies and share dialects and strong multigenerational family bonds. Sperm whales have the largest brains of any species and have higher-level functions such as conscious thought and future planning, as well as speech and feelings of compassion, love, suffering and intuition. Their vocalizations, among the loudest animal sounds on the planet, have a Morse code-like structure that shares the hallmarks of a highly-evolved language. Our understanding of these animals and their dialects is still in its infancy. Only in the last fifteen years have we begun to learn how some of their vocalizations are used for communication.  
WHAT CETI IS DOING
CETI is:
-Developing non-invasive robotics to listen to a population of whales in the Caribbean and put their sounds into context.
-Deploying a “Core Whale Listening System,” an innovative hydrophone array, underwater robotic gliders, custom bioinspired whale tags and other technology to gently study the whales.
-Building on substantial data on the whales’ sounds, social lives, and behavior already obtained by the Dominica Sperm Whale Project. 
-Creating a bespoke, big-data pipeline to examine the recorded data and decode it using advanced machine learning, natural language processing and data science.
-Publishing a series of academic papers beginning with the CETI roadmap.
-Collaborating with the National Geographic Society, including their Exploration Technology Lab, and amplifying the project across National Geographic’s storytelling and education channels.
-Implementing community-based programs like the Dominica Marine Conservation Fellowship, a community-based 10-month multi- module training program for young Dominicans interested in marine science, that was developed in partnership with National Geographic.
-Launching various communications projects to tell CETI’s story including a public interface for the citizen science community, resources for educators and children and arts programs.

IMPACT
Now, for the first time in history, it’s possible to use artificial intelligence to identify and interpret deep structure within animal communication. Using these technologies, CETI is building on the legacy of the “Save the Whales” movement with the goal of having an impact by contributing the following:
Interspecies Communication - A new data set of unprecedented size to the rapidly expanding field of interspecies communication and a roadmap of how humans could translate the communication of any other species
Marine Biology - A substantive contribution to the field of whale research within marine biology that opens gateways for future research initiatives. 
Policy - New information about whales that can bolster policy efforts to protect marine mammals and ocean habitats. Policy advances in this area are crucial as six out of the 13 “great” whale species (the largest whales) are still endangered (World Wildlife Federation). To ensure impact in this area, CETI plans to build out policy campaigns and initiatives. 
Perspective - It is widely endorsed that connectivity with nature can improve mental health. By sharing its journey and findings with the public, CETI hopes to contribute to a feeling of increased wonder and connectedness to whales and the ocean that can inspire action. CETI will build out arts and childrens’ initiatives in support of this impact goal.
Conservation - CETI’s first phase of research is taking place in Dominica in the Caribbean, a region that is one of the world’s greatest centers of diversity. By carrying out its research in partnership with local stakeholders, CETI hopes to contribute to regionally-led research and conservation efforts.

HOW CETI IS SUPPORTING DOMINICA
-CETI’s capacity-building initiative, Dominica Marine Conservation Fellowship is a 10-month, nine module training program for young Dominicans interested in marine science) in partnership with National Geographic.  The program has three 2022/2023 fellows and partnerships with the Dominica National Youth Council, Dominica State College and Dominica’s Ministry of Education. The program’s curriculum (co-created with National Geographic) includes modules on marine science, scientific research/techniques, water and vessel skills and storytelling and leadership among other topics.
-All research and findings by CETI in Dominica are all open-source and will be available for Dominica. The organization’s sailing research vessel (CETI-1), a Rigid Inflatable Boat (CETI-2) and Dominican made boat (CETI-3) are in operation in Dominican waters; these boats along with other CETI equipment will be donated to the local entity at the completion of the project.
-A temporary field station has been established in Dominica and has the capacity to host 10-12 researchers, fellows and students. In the long-term, CETI plans to build a permanent field station in Dominica 
-In 2023, CETI will continue local engagement and presentations with primary and secondary schools, development of video content for use in classrooms, collaborations with local artists and collaborations with local stakeholders such as marine and dive operators, civil society organizations and schools.

Launched in 2012, the Fungi Foundation is the first NGO dedicated to the fungi kingdom. Since its inception, it has achieved numerous milestones while dedicating itself to exploring the fungi world in view of increasing knowledge of their diversity, educating about their applications, and recommending public policy for their conservation. As part of our ongoing 3F initiative, the foundation played a key role in enabling Chile to become the first country in the world to include protection of fungi in its environmental legislation. More recently, the foundation proudly announced the Fantastic Fungi Education Curriculum, the world's first mycological set of courses designed for schools.

Every year, approximately 76,000 children in India may develop cancer, with 58% of them being severely malnourished at the time of diagnosis. For these children, nutrition can mean the difference between life and death. Every child deserves a chance at a cure, and we are here to make that happen.

At Cuddles Foundation, we partner with over 40 government and charity cancer hospitals to support children through our FoodHeals program. Our mission is to ensure that children undergoing cancer therapy receive comprehensive nutritional support. This includes access to trained clinical pediatric nutritionists, expert dietary counsel, supplements, hot meals, monthly ration baskets, and caregiver support. Good food helps the medicine work!

This multi-pronged approach tackles a simple but often ignored aspect of a child’s successful recovery from cancer. While undergoing treatment, it is essential that children have freshly prepared, nutritious food in sufficient quantity and don't stay hungry for long periods. The impact of our work is evident. When part of the FoodHeals Program, 82%* of patients improved or maintained their nutritional status, despite cancer therapy like chemotherapy or radiation.

Additionally, 96% of children followed up* on their treatment plan when nutrition was a part of it, demonstrating the program’s effectiveness. Besides the love and affection of our patients, their families, and our supporters, we’ve won some prestigious awards along the way. This includes the National Award for Child Welfare (2015-16), the Akshaya Patra and UN Global Compact Award (2018) and most recently we received the Global CSR & ESG Awards 2024 - Top 10 Best NGOs of the Year (2024).

**Our Programs and Journey**

In 2016, SEF took a significant step by partnering with the state government of Jammu & Kashmir to launch a teacher training program for over 85,000 teachers. This success marked a turning point, allowing us to dive deeper into our mission of teacher development and educational transformation.

That same year, we started working in Uttarakhand, where we established a community learning center in the village of Gular. This program has since evolved into several initiatives, including the Sashak Prathamik program, which today works with five primary schools in the Tehri Garhwal region. We also collaborate with the Narendra Nagar block to develop and facilitate their mentor teacher coaching and training programs.

In 2017, we launched our Centers of Excellence program in Delhi, working with seven government primary schools. Today, we continue to partner with three of these schools, focusing on enhancing learning outcomes and teacher effectiveness.

By 2021, SEF had extended its partnership with the Delhi government and SCERT to design and implement a competency-based teacher training program aimed at strengthening teacher competencies and the mentor teacher program across the state.

This year, we expanded our work to include collaborations with the state governments of Uttarakhand and Punjab. Our efforts focus on delivering comprehensive teacher development programs that include both training and coaching, developed in close partnership with block and district resource officials.

Our newest initiative, Teachers for Tomorrow (formerly Future Teacher Program), launched in 2022, is designed to equip aspiring teachers with the skills and mindset necessary to become exceptional educators. Under this program, we aim to ensure that these future educators are fully prepared to lead classrooms that inspire and nurture the next generation.

**Our Achievements**

•	Impacted more than 160,000 teachers across Delhi, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.

•	Established eight government partnership schools, setting new standards for quality education.

•	Team members and individuals associated with SEF have been selected as fellows with prestigious global organizations such as Acumen, the Dalai Lama Program, WISE Qatar, Teach for All, and more.

**Future Plans**

Looking ahead, SEF is focused on scaling our impact across multiple states and programs. Currently, under the Centers of Excellence program within our Government Partner School Program, we work with eight schools in Uttarakhand and Delhi. Our State In-Service Teacher Training Programs span Delhi, Punjab, and Uttarakhand, and in 2024, we aim to cumulatively impact over 1.5 lakh teachers through workshops, coaching programs, training sessions, and the provision of tools and resources.

Through our Teachers for Tomorrow program, which focuses on pre-service teacher education, we will work with over 2,000 aspiring teachers across several institutes in Delhi. This year, we also plan to pilot innovative programs that will help define and refine our strategy for developing the teachers of the future.

Our journey has been bolstered by the support of several esteemed organizations, including the Wipro Foundation, InfoEdge, Max India Foundation, Anu Agha and Meher Padamji Family Office, the Bikchandani Family Office, Padmini, V&A, Forest Essentials, Boston Consulting Group, and others. Taimaka has reimagined pediatric malnutrition treatment to make it **more cost-effective and scalable**. We’ve developed a malnutrition treatment model that is:

An endowment protecting the Los Cedros cloud forest forever.

Held in the mists of the Ecuadorian Tropical Andes, a scientific station works with local communities to protect a cloud forest known as Los Cedros (“The Cedars”). The station encourages artists, educators, and researchers to connect with and learn from Los Cedros, whose walking palm trees and old growth lift racket-tail hummingbirds and critically endangered brown-headed spider monkeys into the clouds. Decades of interdependent artwork and scientific discovery from the station—including over 100 publications—factored into the 2021 [decision of Ecuador’s highest court](https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2021/dec/02/plan-to-mine-in-ecuador-forest-violate-rights-of-nature-court-rules-aoe) to ban extractive practices in the forest by upholding Los Cedros’ constitutional rights to exist and to thrive.

This ruling set a monumental precedent for worldwide Rights of Nature efforts. Yet mining companies continue to apply pressure to Los Cedros communities and Ecuadorian authorities—and if mining comes to pass in Los Cedros, it will devastate one of the most biodiverse and endemic forests in the world. Home to thousands of wildlife species, Los Cedros spans 6000 hectares of mostly primary forest habitat. There, the threatened spectacled bear builds a tree bed to feast on aguacatillo berries (tiny avocados), and the elusive jaguar has left her tracks on the banks of waterfalls. In the abundant green shadows, undiscovered fungi, insects, and orchids flourish. A glass frog hides his heartbeat under a leaf.

As one of the rare places where humans can still drink directly from cascading rivers, this refuge also protects numerous watersheds crucial to downstream communities. So, the Los Cedros Fund will prove that the station’s approach of sustainably partnering with the cloud forest and surrounding communities is best for Pachamama—all of Mother Earth, including humans—in the long term.

The Los Cedros Fund is growing an endowment for the cloud forest to be financially self-sufficient. The field of AI has a reputation for overselling its progress. In the “AI winters” of the late 1970s and 1980s, researchers’ failures to make good on ambitious promises led to a collapse of funding and interest in AI. Although the field is now undergoing a renaissance, overconfidence is still a major fear; discussion of the possibility of human-equivalent general intelligence is still largely relegated to the science fiction shelf.

At the same time, researchers largely agree that AI is likely to begin outperforming humans on most cognitive tasks in this century. Given how disruptive domain-general AI could be, we think it is prudent to begin a conversation about this now, and to investigate whether there are limited areas in which we can predict and shape this technology’s societal impact.

Krista's Legacy Foundation (KLF) extends the late Krista Roth’s impact (4/22/99 - 1/20/21) by advancing the causes about which she was most passionate - Rainforest Restoration, Clean Water and Education. As the result of a childhood dream, Krista's Rainforest Sanctuary project started in the Monteverde Cloud Forest of Costa Rica with funds raised on what would have been Krista's 22nd birthday on Earth Day (April 22) 2021. In honor of her desire to help solve the world's water crisis, KLF works in partnership with Can Do Kids International in Kenya. KLF also sponsors projects supporting the education of underprivileged kids with potential to make the world a better place.

Our mission is to lower the suicide rate and prevent homelessness in the veteran population.  

Formerly known as Operation Combat Bikesaver. Our flagship program is what we call "Hotrod Therapy," which teaches veterans the skills and techniques to rebuild an old beat up motorcycle and create the bike of their dreams.  Through this distractive therapy veterans also get to work through their problems and end up "rebuilding" themselves as well.  We have seen some great men and women go through incredible changes in this program.  The veteran then gets to keep their project at no cost, and they usually end up sticking around to help mentor the next veteran through the process.  
While we are most known for our Hotrod Therapy program, we offer a variety of programs to improve the lives of veterans that served their country.  The "On Your Feet" program helps veterans going through hard times.  Our weekly veteran peer support group "Lima Charlie" meets every Thursday and gives veterans a safe space to workshop their problems with like-minded individuals who have been through similar experiences.  Our F.A.T. Program, or "Fitness and Tranquility" helps veterans to live a healthy, active, and peaceful lifestyle, which can be an adjustment to some.  Just to name a few.
100% of your donation goes to helping veterans, whether that be a part for their motorcycle build, getting them a safe ride to work in the morning, or enabling them to make positive impact in their community.  
We do not believe in just "raising awareness."  People are definitely aware.  We are making a positive impact.

ConnectMyVariant's mission is to end hereditary disease by bringing families together.

ConnectMyVariant is an educational health-focused 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families with hereditary disease in their early detection and prevention efforts. We provide unique value by leveraging our evidenced-based family connection protocols to help people identify other at-risk relatives and help those relatives access genetic testing so that they can get optimal medical care. ConnectMyVariant brings people with the same genetic risk together through our variant database and community engagement events to share experiences and find common ancestors. ConnectMyVariant also works to increase awareness of the benefits of family outreach among physicians, others who provide prevention care, and the broader genealogy community.
 
Our key activities are:

- Working with patients to implement personalized family outreach plans
- Interactive educational workshops about sharing information on inherited disease risk
- Variant specific family reunions to share stories and plan outreach to cousins
- Genealogy assistance to help connect individuals in variant groups
- Individual equity and inclusion grants for family and community outreach

Need and Impact:
When hereditary disease risk is known, family outreach has been proven to be the most effective and cost-effective intervention for early detection and prevention. This family outreach, also known as cascade testing, is recommended by multiple guidelines. Despite overwhelming evidence, family outreach assistance is not reimbursed by insurance or integrated into healthcare. Many people suffer and die from hereditary disease that could have been prevented or caught early.
 
We have shown that our strategies to encourage family outreach can act as a communication multiplier. Our pilot research at the University of Washington showed that this approach enhanced patient experience, was considered ethical, and was appreciated by newly identified relatives. Our approach is low-cost and is 25 to 50 times more effective than awareness and education interventions that target the general population.

Karim Slaoui was born in Belgium in 1987. After a thesis in applied mathematics to forecast the impact of tsunamis on the coastline, he launched Take Eat Easy, a food delivery company by bicycle, pioneering in South Europe. Next, he started the venture Cowboy, promoting urban cycling.
Karim was driven by optimism and innovation.

Karim was obsessed with ‘equality of opportunities’. He encouraged youngsters to be ambitious and to follow their dreams while pursuing an engineering degree. He was also involved in charities dedicated to help underprivileged teenagers in France to choose wisely for their future. With his Moroccan name, he faced prejudices and he was determined to change biased mindsets.

In 2018 Karim wanted to run a marathon but had something odd in the knee. By the end of the year, he was diagnosed with a synovial sarcoma. After 5 years of experimental treatment in 3 different countries, surgeries, and other fights, he became paralyzed because of a metastatic tumor in his spine. He lost the ability to walk and to move from the chest down.


His wife Aurore Balsan and he discovered the lack of innovation in addressing the challenges faced by wheelchair users. Before his death on September 29th 2023, Aurore Balsan, his wife, and Moncef Slaoui, his father, committed to pursue his dream and vision of promoting more innovation and entrepreneurship to help address the challenges faced by wheelchair users.

The Rosalynn Carter Institute For Caregivers drives transformative systems change to improve the strength, health, and resilience of family caregivers. People of all identities provide care to their family members, **but the experience falls disproportionately on women and girls**, with serious effects on their mental, physical, and economic health.

- 3 out of 5 caregivers in the US are women, and a significant number are women over 50.
- Caregiving disproportionately impacts women’s health. Female caregivers report higher levels of stress at every age, and also report that their health is negatively impacted.

Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers

Closegap is a 501(c)(3) non-profit technology company on a mission to improve the emotional and mental health of K-12 students.

Closegap is a nonprofit tech startup that’s created a free daily mental health check-in for K-12 students. Each day, students complete a developmentally appropriate and interactive check-in, which asks a series of questions about their emotions, energy level, physical needs and more. Students then have the option to request to speak with a trusted adult or choose from a library of self-guided, social-emotional learning activities on the digital platform. School staff receive alerts, a daily triaged list of their students, and data visualizations to spot trends over time. Founded on the idea that every kid needs at least one trusted adult and self-regulation skills to navigate tough circumstances, we’re working to transform the way kids are cared for and supported within schools. 

THE PROBLEM 
Closegap is addressing the youth mental health crisis, and schools’ inability to meet student mental and emotional health needs. Youth anxiety, depression and suicide have been on the rise for the past decade. In 2019, one in three high school students reported persistent feelings of sadness or hopelessness, an increase of 40% from 2009. The pandemic exacerbated the crisis. In 2020, there was a 30% increase in emergency room visits for mental health reasons for youth ages 12-17. Today, suicide is the second leading cause of death among 15-24 year olds. 

Schools are on the frontlines of this crisis, and represent an enormous opportunity to strengthen our mental health safety net—most students (and BIPOC students, disproportionately) receive mental health services at schools. Yet, schools are often understaffed and under-resourced. When something is wrong, we don’t have mechanisms in place to catch it. Nationally, there are over 415 students for every 1 school counselor, almost double the recommended ratio. School staff are largely unequipped to monitor the needs of all their students or intervene in real time; it’s unrealistic that they can check-in with each student, and implicit bias can cloud judgment. Additionally, not all students feel comfortable asking for help. For this reason, many students slip through the cracks. Schools desperately need a way to gauge the mental health needs of their students both in real-time (for immediate individual support) and over time (for systemic support) to adequately address the youth mental health crisis. 

THE SOLUTION 
Closegap equips schools with the technology and data to more effectively support the mental health of K-12 students. 

The check-in is developmentally appropriate and backed by research from mental health experts and leading institutions, enabling schools to ask the right questions early and often. It first asks students about their feelings, needs, and challenges. Then the more foundational questions. Are they eating enough? Sleeping well? Is everything okay in their peer group? At the end, students are given the opportunity to privately ask for help from an adult or choose from a library of self-guided, evidence-based social-emotional learning activities, such as box breathing, shaking out parts of their body and making a gratitude list. Students learn to label, understand and regulate their emotions, and are provided with a new, direct line to school staff to express their emotional needs; this is particularly important for students who may not feel comfortable walking to the counselor’s office.

Check-in data enables school staff to monitor and intervene on student needs in real time and at scale; they receive alerts, a daily triaged list of students, and data visualizations to spot trends over time.  Schools move from a disjointed, reactive approach when serious crises occur to a proactive approach to care. 


IMPACT
Schools using Closegap have prevented suicides and uncovered cases of self-harm, sexual assault, bullying and trouble at home that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. The check-in leverages technology to bolster the current support system in schools—meeting kids right where they are, fostering more genuine connection between school staff and students, and increasing empathy and understanding. We’ve served over 200,000 students across all 50 states, with over 5.8 million check-ins completed to date.

Strongest Hearts is so excited to have you here.  We founded Strongest Hearts in 2022 after our son’s diagnosis with Becker’s Muscular Dystrophy.  BMD is an incredibly serious disease that affects the muscle systems of young boys and men.  Like the more common and more severe Duchenne’s, it is progressive and life threatening.

Strongest Hearts intends to end that threat.  Our non-profit is designed to exclusively work to find a cure or treatment, educate and advocate for this deadly disease.  DMD is the number one killer for adolescents in the US and we search to find a solution that will help over 90% of the DMD and BMD community.  

Like so many people and families, we have felt fear, anxiety and hopelessness and have received massively conflicting data from doctors and websites.  It is time to stop that cycle and move towards a day when we can say that a diagnosis of any muscular dystrophy, while unsettling, is no longer a tragedy.  We truly believe that we have the people, the skill and the technology to end this scourge once and for all.

CANCER SCREENINGS (Stats 2020/21)
• Over 54 210 conducted in total (with abnormalities referred accordingly).
• Conducted over 6 260 pap smears and facilitated 2 989 in partnership with the Department of Health (DoH).
• Carried out more than 20 570 clinical breast examinations.
• 8 848 Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) tests completed and 351 done in partnership with DoH.
• Over 3 010 skin examinations using the FotoFinder Mole Analysis device took place.
• Expanded workplace screening and wellness programmes.


HEALTH SCREENING, EDUCATION AND AWARENESS (Stats 2020/21)
• Approximately 40 727 individual information and education sessions conducted with screenings.
• Over 7 560 people assessed to determine their lifestyle risk, with 2 361 glucose tests performed for diabetes.
• More than 465 900 people reached through 1 738 talks and 4 531 exhibitions with the help of 795 health promotion volunteers.
• Over 150 radio talks hosted for cancer education.
• Distributed over 71 110 information leaflets to promote health awareness campaigns.


CANSA ORGANISATIONAL PROFILE
• More than 79 700 youth reached through 402 school programmes.
• Our CANSA Helpdesk responded to over 12 680 enquiries for support and information via telephone, WhatsApp, email, website and social media.


CURRENT PLANS AND THE FUTURE
CANSA’s service and income generation is managed and deployed centrally with national teams, placed across the country. We streamline and modernise our service and fundraising efforts regularly. We have CANSA Care Centres around the country with certain CANSA Care Centres operating as ‘Virtual CANSA Care Centres’ where employees work remotely to offer services within their surrounding communities assisted by willing volunteers.


Our country’s economic recovery post COVID-19 will take a few years. The need for our normal services continues and even more patients and caregivers need help. We are aware of our duty to continue to educate South Africa about the cancer burden and find innovative ways to help lower the cancer risk, while providing support and care to the communities we serve.

Grant decisions will be made by a dedicated management committee, all with a strong network and expertise on how well-timed grant-making can safeguard the future.
