Emergency response saves lives. But recovery doesn’t end when the emergency does.
After emergency responders leave and immediate relief funding fades, communities can be left with healthcare systems under even greater strain—disrupted services, workforce shortages, gaps in access and coordination, and vulnerabilities that make the next crisis harder to withstand.
That’s where the Alliance for Resilience in Healthcare (ARHC) works.
We help communities move from short-term recovery toward stronger, more resilient healthcare systems. Rather than providing temporary disaster relief, ARHC works alongside communities and local partners to understand where health systems are vulnerable, identify gaps that disasters have exposed or worsened, and build practical strategies for long-term resilience.
Our work brings together community knowledge, healthcare and public health partners, research, and systems-level planning. Through assessment, partnership development, coordination, and locally driven implementation, we help communities strengthen the infrastructure and relationships their health systems depend on.
The result we’re working toward isn’t simply recovery from one disaster. It’s a healthcare system better equipped to serve its community every day—and better prepared for whatever comes next.
When disaster response ends, our work begins.
