Founded in 2004, the United Macedonian Diaspora (UMD) is the leading non-governmental, non-partisan, non-political, educational advocacy organization promoting the interests of Macedonians and Macedonian communities worldwide. UMD sponsors educational, cultural, and linguistic programming; provides scholarships; holds youth leadership conferences; organizes an annual birthright trip to Macedonia; gives aid to children with disabilities; and leads disaster relief efforts in times of need.
