THE CONSERVATION COALITION (NPC)

COMPANY OVERVIEW

The Conservation Coalition NPC (TCC) is a registered non-profit company established in July 2025. TCC’s origins can be traced back to the impactful conservation funding work undertaken by Painteddog.tv, a South African digital video production company. Painteddog.tv harnessed the power of storytelling to direct donor support towards urgent conservation causes.

BACKGROUND AND LEGACY

Painteddog.tv utilised platforms such as YouTube to share compelling narratives, which in turn helped to raise vital resources and funds for essential, on-the-ground conservation efforts. These efforts included rhino horn trimming—a proven, non-lethal measure to deter poaching—alongside pangolin rehabilitation and release programmes. The company also facilitated the distribution of vulture first-aid kits, in partnership with the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT), to address poisoning incidents, and implemented targeted conservation initiatives for wild dogs and cheetahs.

ESTABLISHMENT OF TCC

Recognising the challenges of operating such impactful work within a for-profit structure, TCC was founded as a dedicated Non-Profit Company (NPC). This transition allows TCC to accept tax-deductible donations and adopt a more hands-on and specialised approach to conservation funding. Building upon the legacy of Painteddog.tv. TCC continues to support these proven projects, ensuring sustained financial and logistical assistance. This commitment encompasses ongoing support for rhino horn trimming operations, reinforced partnerships in pangolin rehabilitation, expanded vulture rescue initiatives, and continued backing for wild dog and cheetah conservation programmes.

FUTURE FOCUS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Looking ahead, TCC aims to expand its impact by initiating and funding research projects in collaboration with academic institutions and conservation scientists. In addition, TCC is dedicated to increasing its involvement in community-based conservation—an essential but often overlooked aspect of wildlife protection in South Africa. These efforts will prioritise building authentic partnerships with local communities, especially those in rural areas. Planned initiatives include sustainable eco-tourism training, the development of alternative livelihoods, and the implementation of community-led conservation projects.

MISSION AND VISION

Through fostering genuine collaboration and a shared sense of purpose, The Conservation Coalition seeks to address the root causes of biodiversity loss, such as human-wildlife conflict. By empowering communities, TCC aims to inspire stewardship and ensure the protection of South Africa’s natural heritage for generations to come.
