Tanzania Enlightenment Development Innovations (TEDI) is a youth-led nonprofit transforming Tanzania’s education system by embedding practical 21st-century skills—digital literacy, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and employability—into formal education. Our work focuses on under-resourced communities, ensuring that youth are equipped for meaningful participation in both the local and global economy.
TEDI’s theory of change begins with addressing a critical gap: traditional education in Tanzania often lacks the practical skills needed for economic empowerment. We respond by providing key inputs like trained educators, technology, partnerships with schools and governments, and curriculum development expertise.
These resources fuel our core activities—establishing computer labs, delivering skills-based training, engaging communities, and generating data to inform policy. The result: increased access to digital tools, improved school engagement, and better livelihood prospects for thousands of youth.
TEDI has already reached over 15,000 students and empowered 200+ teachers through programs like One Computer Lab, One School. With donor support, we scale these results—driving long-term impact by building an innovative, skilled, and economically empowered generation prepared to lead sustainable development in Tanzania and compete globally.
