Amsterdam UMC Foundation empowers pioneering ideas in medicine to improve patients’ lives. Our mission is to advance health and the chances of recovery from disease by supporting programmes and projects in scientific research, patient care, education and facilities in Amsterdam UMC, and in initiatives in which Amsterdam UMC is a key partner. We focus on researchers and clinicians who dare to look at disease differently: professionals who combine scientific excellence with creativity, collaboration and a strong drive to improve outcomes for patients. With philanthropic support, we enable innovative, often high‑risk projects that are difficult to fund through regular channels, especially in areas of high unmet medical need and rare or complex diseases. Amsterdam UMC Foundation connects donors with impact-driven research. We ensure that every contribution is used carefully and transparently, and that donors can see how their support helps ideas grow into better diagnostics, treatments and care pathways. Together with private individuals, family and corporate foundations and other partners, we create room for innovation that moves healthcare forward step by step – from the lab to the clinic and into society.
