ProAction addresses health inequities, improving health care access and quality for thousands of families and expanding economic opportunities across the Borderplex region of Texas and New Mexico through three key programs:
Immunize El Paso: Our immunization initiative promotes public health equity by offering accessible, low- to no-cost vaccinations and lab testing for children and adults underserved by the healthcare system. We deliver innovative care to the region’s most underserved residents through four clinics in low-opportunity neighborhoods, mobile units, and pop-up clinics in partnership with community organizations. Immunize El Paso includes comprehensive multilingual education to combat vaccine hesitancy and misinformation, empowering communities to make informed health decisions. In 2025, we administered 49,428 vaccines.
Emergency Services Institute (ESI): ProAction’s Emergency Services Institute leads the region in pre-hospital Emergency Medical Service (EMS) education. Amid a nationwide EMS staffing crisis, our program creates critical career pathways in healthcare while reducing response times and saving lives. Partnering with over ten hospitals and ambulance services, we provide hands-on training in emergency departments and ambulances. Additionally, we train 25,000 community members annually in CPR and life-saving measures such as Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and HeartSaver CPR.
Event Emergency Services: As the most experienced event medical response team in El Paso, Texas, and Las Cruces, New Mexico, ProAction provides EMS coverage for 2,000 community events annually. Recognized as a registered EMS First Responder Organization in Texas and New Mexico, we minimize the strain on local EMS systems by offering swift, on-site care. In 2025, ProAction employed 60+ highly trained medics who provided EMS at 1,723 special events, reducing treatment times, saving lives, and ensuring events proceeded smoothly.
