The linear waste stream of make, buy, use, and throw away continues to add to the landfill mass without regard to environmental or human impact. HOW IT ALL STARTED

After many years in the financial industry, our founders - Marc and Daniel - abandoned their careers in order to help the underprivileged in our society. Without knowing what to expect, Child’s Dream was brought to life in October 2003 with the help of their close friends and family members. Both realised very soon that they had found new meaning in life and that they were able to put all of their newly gained motivation and endless energy into effective help for children in need.

As of February 2024 there have been 265,295 total direct beneficiaries been reached by ongoing projects. The total number of direct beneficiaries reached by past and ongoing projects is 1,308,329. As of February 2024 there have been 1,002 ongoing projects been supported.

Disadvantaged children and youth in Myanmar, Lao PDR, Cambodia, and Thailand encounter challenges in accessing and completing quality education, with disparities and inequalities persisting among different groups and regions. Alongside these educational challenges, health concerns such as limited healthcare access, insufficient health education, prevalent unsafe Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) diseases, and maternal and child health issues vary across the countries. As a result, individuals are not able to foster the development of their countries and communities, perpetuating poverty and inequalities.

In a cultural landscape marked by deep upheavals, violence, and trauma, communities face huge obstacles to wholeness and becoming. Inspired and indebted to global traditions of youth initiation, which at their best require multigenerational participation and living wisdom traditions, we see the **revitalization** and **reimagining** of cultural traditions of all kinds as an acupuncture point for healing and resiliency, particularly for the communities that have faced the most oppression.

Workshop Learning is a nonprofit educational organization, founded in 2010 in Philadelphia to serve under-resourced youth

Through real-world learning, robust community, and personal growth, Workshop Learning empowers young adults to pursue a life of security, connection, and purpose. 

We design learning experiences in which students hone their sense of self, shape a vision for what comes next, and build the skills they need to make that vision a reality. While we believe this is critical to flourishing for all students, our work centers on youth and emerging adults from the most marginalized communities. These students' dreams and talents are too often overlooked and they often feel alienated and left behind by education systems. 

Serving young people ages 14-24, Workshop Learning works in three spaces.  First, we assist the School District in operating and supporting a high school (the Workshop School).  Second, we’re piloting a new alternative postsecondary program (Workshop U). Third, we work with other educators, schools, and systems that want to adapt or learn from our approach.

A community for entrepreneurs in recovery from addiction to grow their businesses while staying sober and helping others.

For over a decade, I battled alcoholism and addiction. I couldn’t stop—even when I wanted to. I drank against my own will. It cost me relationships, clarity, peace… and nearly my freedom.

In 2013, after a DUI and an arrest, I was given an ultimatum: **jail or rehab**. At the time, it felt like the worst moment of my life. Looking back, it was the turning point that saved it.

After 30 days in rehab and a newfound outlook on life. I made the best and hardest decision of my life to stay sober.

By 2014, with one year sober, I launched my first real company. From the outside, I looked like I had it all together, but inside, I was juggling a storm. Running a business, managing employees, delivering for clients—and all the while, trying to surrender to God’s will while still holding tight to control. There were so many days drinking felt like the only answer.

And the environment didn’t help.

Networking events? Happy hours.
Conferences? Open bars.
Entrepreneur culture? Work hard, play harder.
But for people like us alcoholics and addicts that “play” nearly destroyed us.

I’ve always loved the concept of helping others, which is the basis of 12-step recovery. We help others, and in turn, our lives get better. I applied those principles in helping other entrepreneurs and had seen the impact that it was having in their lives, their family’s lives, and their employee’s lives.

Fast forward to 2023: I exited my company successfully. I had resources, time, and space to reflect. I asked myself, “What would I do every day if money didn’t matter?” and the answer was clear:

**I’d dedicate my life to helping other entrepreneurs in recovery grow their businesses and stay sober.**

I already had sponsees who were founders. My sponsor ran a business. We’d have powerful, honest conversations about sobriety and entrepreneurship but always behind closed doors. It never felt appropriate to bring these discussions into a 12 step meeting… and they didn’t belong at a business mastermind either.

There had to be a better way.
A place where recovery and business could coexist.
Where we could talk about cash flow *and* cravings.
Marketing funnels *and* mental health.
Growth *and* grace.

So I built the thing I couldn’t find. The thing that I wish existed in the previous decade of building my own company and the very lonely lows and bittersweet highs that came along with being in recovery at the same time.

The first meeting started as a group text of fellow entrepreneur friends and a random post on Facebook for anyone with over $250k in revenue and one year of sobriety to join. I didn’t expect much, maybe a few of my friends to pop in and say hi and it would eventually fizzle out. But it didn’t…

Strangers joined the group, and then immediately after were begging for more (typical addict tendency haha).

I realized I had something that wasn’t just a little one-off thing, but the potential for something huge.

At the time of forming the group, I had made a list of things “If X happens, keep going, if Y happens, quit.” One of the long shot items in the keep going list was if a random stranger reached out and said this is a great idea, that would be enough outside validation to keep going.

After the second meeting, I had a random DM from an old account manager from a software we hadn’t used in years reach out to me saying that it was an incredible concept and that they grew up in a house of addiction and entrepreneurship. She said what we were doing was incredible and something she wished her father had when she was growing up… That hit hard.

The same day, I received another dm from a newsletter asking for an interview to learn more about Sober Founders and what we were doing. The idea got a fast proof of concept and has been growing ever since.

What started as a side project became a full-blown nonprofit a 501(c)(3)—thanks to the support of early members, generous donors, and the undeniable impact we were having on each other’s lives.

Hopa Mountain invests in rural and tribal citizen leaders who are improving education, ecological health and economic development.

Hopa Mountain has six principal programs:

**1.  Hopa Mountain StoryMakers:** Working through diverse local Community Teams in rural and tribal Montana communities, *StoryMakers* offers parents with children 0-5 books, resources, support, and networks to build strong early learning home environments that give their children the best chances for success when they enter school and overall wellbeing throughout their lives.  

**2.  Scholars of Promise** programs that provide college support services to Native American, Latino, and foster care youth. *Health Scholars of Promise* invests in rural and tribal teens interested in pursuing a health degree. Scholars receive support services through college graduation.

**3.** **Native Fellowships** help teens, tribal college, university and graduate students in Montana prepare for and earn undergraduate and terminal degrees. The **Medical Mentorship Program** supports those preparing for medical school.

**4.** **Strengthening the Circle - Native Nonprofit Leadership Program:** This program supports Native-led nonprofit Executive Directors and Board members throughout the Northern Rockies and Pacific Northwest with resources, technical support, and networks as they develop and strengthen vital community programs. 

**5. Local Food for Local Families** Through training and technical assistance initiatives, staff provide support to local food producers and rural and tribal food pantries to help expand their outreach and support services. Staff are also working to increase the marketing capacity of rural farmers and ranchers along with the development of food hubs with shared-use kitchens in underserved communities.

**6.** Through **Citizen Leadership/Nonprofit Leadership Training/Affiliate Programs**,\*\*\*\* Hopa Mountain staff offer training programs in Board development, strategic planning, and 501c3 application development along with fiscal sponsorship services.

Our candidates embark on a rigorous 13-month, 750+ hour educational program, modeled after the most successful Yeshivot. With mandatory participation and continuous evaluation, we ensure our graduates possess a level of knowledge that often exceeds that of those born into the faith.

**Desvelando Oris is a nonprofit organization dedicated to breaking cycles of structural racism, gender inequality, and systemic violence in Brazil.** The organization democratizes access to information, expands opportunities, and nurtures Black talent, especially women and youth, in vulnerable communities.

**The Challenge**

Brazil is a country of stark contrasts. While 56% of the population identifies as Black, this majority continues to face the highest rates of poverty, unemployment, violence, and underrepresentation in positions of power. Seventy percent of people living in poverty are Black, and every 21 minutes a young Black person is murdered. Black women account for two-thirds of all femicide victims, while trans people in Brazil live, on average, only 35 years. These realities underscore the urgency of systemic solutions that advance racial and gender equity. 

**The Approach**

Desvelando Oris combines education, culture, racial justice, and advocacy to empower communities and create pathways for dignity and leadership. Key programs include:

- **Gira de Oris:** Leadership development and mentoring for Black women in vulnerable situations.
- **Pontes para o Futuro:** Professional mentorship for young Black talent.
- **Uma Janela para o Mundo**: Racial literacy and culture of peace initiatives in public schools.
- **Locus:** Power & Justice: Strategic litigation, advocacy, and training to make Brazil’s justice system more inclusive.
- **Reaja!**: Emergency assistance for families facing hunger, housing insecurity, or climate-related disasters.
- **Closet Solidário & Cultural Festivals**: Fashion, arts, and leisure as tools for self-esteem and inclusion.
- **Circulando Saberes**: An annual seminar engaging more than 10,000 participants in dialogue on race, gender, and human rights.

**The Impact**

Desvelando Oris has directly reached more than 35,000 people, 85% Black, 70% women, and 60% youth. By 2026, the organization aims to reach 50,000 beneficiaries, train 500 young people and Black women through mentorship and acceleration programs, and prepare 200 corporate leaders to implement inclusive practices.

The Jeremiah Project Inc is a nonprofit organization. It is based in Williamsburg, VA. It received its nonprofit status in 1987.

The Jeremiah Project (JP) provides short-term mission camps for Middle School & High School student participants. JP offers several weeks throughout the summer in West Virginia.  Students and adults work to make homes warmer, safer, drier, and more accessible for people in need.  Throughout the week, students are given a wide range of home repair opportunities from painting to building wheelchair ramps.

Outside of summer mission camps, the Jeremiah Project provides a spring weekend retreat (JOURNEY), a fall conference (LAUNCH), and a one-year leadership experience for 9th and 10th grade students (LEAD Four:Twelve).

JECP is building an enterprise incubation and innovation ecosystem in eastern Uttar Pradesh. Our aim is to motivate local youth to build enterprises. Designed with a 3-I (Incubation, Innovation and

Inspiration) framework, the Centre will incubate enterprises, promote sustainable innovation in six focus areas – Health, Women, Digital, Rural Urbanization, Agro Processing, Handicraft and Apparel

– and inspire local people through culture, architecture and local role models. Over the past 3 years, it has incubated 100 enterprises, creating 2000 jobs and impacting 30,000+ beneficiaries. It

also implemented a digital literacy training program, called Internet Saathi supported by Tata Trusts and Google, for 1.7 million rural women across 10000+ villages in 7 districts

CDA Collaborative Learning Projects (CDA) is a US-based international non-profit organization that exists to engage the complex questions that unlock positive, systemic change wherever communities experience fragility and conflict. Understanding that education is the foundation of empowerment, Aadarana runs its own school—Amithabha Aadarana Vidyalaya—recognized by the Government of Telangana. The school provides:

Free quality education from pre-primary to high school

Subjects aligned with the state curriculum, with additional focus on moral values, English, and life skills

Well-qualified teachers who are passionate about shaping young minds
Focus on discipline, punctuality, and holistic development
Special coaching and academic support for slow learners

Establishing community-based ECD centers within public or community structures.

Creating early stimulation corners in health centers to support pregnant women and newborns during their first 1,000 days.

Delivering weekly parenting sessions on early stimulation, responsive caregiving, nutrition, mental health, and livelihood support.

Africa Matters Initiative (AMI) is a youth-led organisation founded in 2015 with the mission to empower and upskill young Africans to change their communities and reshape the African narrative through leadership, social entrepreneurship, and advocacy. Registered in South Africa, AMI has worked with over 6,000 young leaders across 23 African countries and the diaspora, with a strong focus on reaching women, girls, youth with disabilities, and underserved communities.

AMI was born out of a vision to create a platform that nurtures non-traditional African leaders, who are young people who are passionate about change but often lack access to resources, networks, and opportunities. Through transformative programs such as the Africa Matters Ambassadors Program (AMAP), ShE is Empowered (ShE), Her Environment, Her Future (HEHF), and the Schools Leadership Development Program (SLDP), AMI provides leadership training, mentorship, project funding, and a vibrant pan-African network of peers and changemakers.

To date, AMI alumni have launched community initiatives in areas such as education, gender equality, mental health, climate action, and economic empowerment, with many becoming mentors and facilitators in AMI’s growing ecosystem. Our mission is **to educate and facilitate guided outdoor recreational adventures**—from hiking, camping, and paddling to hunting, fishing and archery and everything in between. Bringing powerful, everyday people into racial justice movements through training, convening, and storytelling.

**For over 30 years, Voices for Racial Justice's multiracial training and organizing programs have been instrumental in building a strong racial justice movement in Minnesota.** We are committed to centering BIPOC leadership, breaking down silos across social change and policy work, and creating lasting, ecosystem-wide support for racial justice organizing. VRJ has trained over 400 organizers and our alumni a organize for racial justice everywhere from community centers to the capitol!

**Today, as we face a mountain of new challenges, we are bringing powerful, everyday people into social movements through:**

- **Training** new and emergent leaders from Black, brown, and Indigenous communities
- **Convening** networks of BIPOC changemakers 
- **Shifting narratives** and growing our collective power through storytelling

We accompany the Salvadoran people's struggle for justice, and democracy and organize against US-backed militarization.

(excerpt) We are a national grassroots organization dedicated to supporting the Salvadoran people’s struggle for self-determination, democracy and social and economic justice. Our U.S. based campaigns currently focus on ending U.S. economic and political support for widespread human rights violations, repression and political persecution against the democratic opposition in El Salvador. We join with poor and working people, immigrants and refugees in the struggle against neoliberalism and other unjust systems imposed by the United States government and its state, institutional and corporate allies. We focus our work on El Salvador because of the U.S. government’s continuing military, economic, and political intervention, the Salvadoran people’s tenacious and inspiring struggle to build social justice, and the potential of the Salvadoran diaspora and allies in the U.S. to transform the relationships between the two countries. The Islamic Institute of Orange County (IIOC) is a nonprofit organization 501(c)(3) mosque and institution established in 1991 to serve the greater Orange County community as a source of Islamic knowledge, spirituality, social gatherings, and communal support.

IIOC primarily provides prayer services, weekly Friday khutbah prayers, community programming and events, and a full-time Pre-K to 8th grade Islamic School, Minaret Academy.

The Freedom Story started in 2008, with a documentary highlighting the stories of vulnerable children in Northern Thailand, revealing the links between poverty, lack of education, and exploitation. 

Through locally led programs—Education and Mentoring, Human Rights Training, Economic Empowerment, and IMPACT Partnerships— The Freedom Story prevents child trafficking by reducing risk and helping children and their families thrive. 

Currently, our holistic programs have reached more than 44,000 people in Northern Thailand.

GO Ministries has been making disciples in the Dominican Republic and beyond for over 35 years. GO is an international missions organization that empowers local leaders to make disciples in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, and the United States. GO Ministries was founded on the great commission’s call to make disciples. GO Ministries operates through three focused areas of ministry—Church Planting, Medical, and Sports—to carry out the Great Commission and make disciples in everything we do. We believe that disciple-making is threefold and always includes mentorship, mission, and multiplication. 

Today, GO Ministries hosts over 85 missions teams annually, has over 1100 student athletes in our GO Sports program, sees over 20,000 patients through medical outreach, and has planted 282 churches across six countries. Because our mission is to empower local leaders to make disciples, our ministry is local-leader led.
