Growing Veterans

NVHS: ending veteran homelessness in Central Florida via street outreach, transitional housing, and homelessness prevention.

National Veterans Homeless Support, Inc. (NVHS) is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization that was founded in 2008 by George Taylor Sr. and his friends who were passionate about helping homeless veterans in their community. Their mission is to eliminate homelessness among veterans in Central Florida by providing street outreach, housing assistance, and transitional housing facilities.

NVHS has two primary programs that assist homeless and at-risk of homelessness veterans and their families:

- Search and Rescue: NVHS proactively locates homeless veterans, provides them with basic needs, and connects them with housing, employment, and benefit assistance providers. NVHS also secures or provides funding for immediately at-risk of homelessness veteran families to pay overdue housing debts to keep them housed. This program aims to prevent new cases of veteran homelessness and rapidly re-house those who are already homeless.
- Transitional Housing: NVHS operates transitional housing facilities for homeless veterans in Brevard County with capacity to house 17 clients at one time.

NVHS has made a remarkable impact on reducing veteran homelessness in Brevard County. According to the Bi-Annual Point in Time Count, the homeless veteran population has decreased from 1,800 in 2008 to less than 200 in 2023, an amazing 90% reduction! NVHS strives to reach mission complete by housing all the homeless veterans and preventing the at-risk veterans from losing their homes. Over 350 veterans and their family members are assisted on average annually between the two programs.

NVHS is also committed to being fiscally responsible and transparent. They have a continuous Gold Star rating on GuideStar, and 4 of 4 Stars rating with Charity Navigator for their fiscal responsibility and transparency.

National Veterans Homeless Support

To alleviate hunger in Lincoln County by distributing healthy, nutritious food to our agency network & education empowerment.

Food Share of Lincoln County is one of 21 regional food banks in the Oregon Food Bank network.  Food Share of Lincoln County distributes food to its network of  local emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, produce drops, senior food box home delivery and other assistance agencies in addition to facilitating cooking classes and farmers' market tours..

Our core mission is to develop and manage both transitional and permanent housing, as well as provide rapid re-housing for vulnerable members of our community.

Home Base USA Community Development Inc

Our mission is to lower the suicide rate and prevent homelessness in the veteran population.  

Formerly known as Operation Combat Bikesaver. Our flagship program is what we call "Hotrod Therapy," which teaches veterans the skills and techniques to rebuild an old beat up motorcycle and create the bike of their dreams.  Through this distractive therapy veterans also get to work through their problems and end up "rebuilding" themselves as well.  We have seen some great men and women go through incredible changes in this program.  The veteran then gets to keep their project at no cost, and they usually end up sticking around to help mentor the next veteran through the process.  
While we are most known for our Hotrod Therapy program, we offer a variety of programs to improve the lives of veterans that served their country.  The "On Your Feet" program helps veterans going through hard times.  Our weekly veteran peer support group "Lima Charlie" meets every Thursday and gives veterans a safe space to workshop their problems with like-minded individuals who have been through similar experiences.  Our F.A.T. Program, or "Fitness and Tranquility" helps veterans to live a healthy, active, and peaceful lifestyle, which can be an adjustment to some.  Just to name a few.
100% of your donation goes to helping veterans, whether that be a part for their motorcycle build, getting them a safe ride to work in the morning, or enabling them to make positive impact in their community.

About Habitat Lower Keys:
Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Key is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. 

Habitat Lower Keys builds and repairs houses using volunteer labor and donations. Income-qualifying Lower Keys families purchase homes through no-profit, no-interest mortgages. To qualify, the families must demonstrate a need for affordable housing, qualify for the loan, and be willing to partner with Habitat by completing homeownership courses and contributing 200-300 hours of "sweat equity" through work on their home or within the community.

Homebuyer Program:
Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Keys, Inc. does not build houses for families or give homes away; we facilitate a partnership with families who demonstrate a need for adequate affordable housing, the ability to pay a mortgage, and a willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity. 

This partnership also engages community supporters who join the families in the home building process and provide both financial and in-kind support for building supplies and materials. Homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their home and they pay back a no-profit, no-interest mortgage. 

Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Keys, Inc. is committed to the development of decent, affordable homes. We also are committed to working with partner families to insure that the experience of homeownership is positive and successful. 

Families are trained and supported in a variety of skills, including: basic construction skills to assist in the building of their house; home maintenance skills; various home improvement skills; neighborhood involvement and cooperation skills; budgeting and consumer awareness skills; and others as necessary.

Habitat homes are modestly sized. They are large enough for the homeowner family’s needs, but small enough to keep construction and maintenance costs down.

The labor of volunteers and partner families, efficient building methods, modest house sizes, and no-profit loans make it affordable for low-income families to purchase Habitat houses.

We are proud to be able to provide an opportunity for working families to stay in the Keys, put their roots down and raise their families. 

Critical Home Repair Program:
Down here in the Lower Keys, available land to build on is very scarce. Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Keys also focuses on maintaining decent, affordable homes for low-income families by renovating or preserving existing homes. 

By making critical home repairs to homes owned by low-income seniors, or adults with disabilities, we allow these residents to remain in their homes independently. For older adults, aging in place in their homes extends longevity and quality of life, and safe and stable housing and community networks are core to these outcomes. Surveys of homeowners that partner with Habitat show they’re mentally and physically healthier, feel safer at home, and engage with their family and friends more. Recognizing that safe and accessible housing is a key social determinant of health, Habitat is committed to making repairs focused on safety and accessibility for those in need.

Affordable Rentals:
Recognizing the scope of the affordable housing crisis in the Lower Keys, habitat also provides 27 affordable rentals for low-income families and residents. Keeping our rents below the city and county-mandated affordable levels allows our tenants to focus on why they live here and enjoy the beautiful Lower Keys environment, instead of spending all of their time working multiple jobs just to make it.

For some of our tenants, a Habitat rental can be the gateway to homeownership. Their rental agreement and payment history with Habitat helps them establish credit and show a history of on-time payments, which then helps them to qualify to become a Habitat homeowner.

Why does housing matter?
Affordable housing plays a critical role in strong communities because it is a determining factor for mental and physical health, as well as in educational outcomes for children. Access to affordable homeownership allows essential workers to stay in the Keys, put
down roots and raise their families here, establishing a foundation for building generational wealth. Communities that are diverse across income levels, race and culture are resilient communities. 

Housing that is affordable and decent also reduces taxpayer expenses and boosts the local economy. Allowing seniors to age in place in their own homes reduces the tax payer burden of supported living. Safe, affordable homes reduce public costs associated with
illness and poor school performance in children. Construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing employs local trade workers and powers local businesses.

How do we achieve our vision?
To achieve our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live, we build with hammers, with volunteers and with families. We build affordable homes for local essential workers to purchase, we make critical repairs to keep residents on fixed incomes in their homes, we build future homeowners through affordable rentals and homeowner education classes, and we build community in the process. We build through advocacy and through partnerships, and by bringing people together to forge bonds, share their skills and share
their stories. 

Our work is needed now more than ever. We must continue to create community, foster opportunity, and generate access and equity for all. A world, and a local community, where everyone has a decent place to live is not only something we wish for, it is the future we build together every day.

Hands of Hope distributes food to alleviate hunger, focusing on nutrition, and health, helping individuals reach their potential.

In 1992, Hands of Hope, Inc. began serving the community as a food pantry, soup kitchen, and limited clothes closet. Today, the program continues to operate from St. James Church in Edison, NJ. As a non-profit 501(c)(3) community-based organization, Hands of Hope remains committed to providing an efficient and effective system for distributing food to alleviate hunger, one family at a time. We operate entirely with the help of volunteers, as we do not have any paid staff.

​​In March 2020, in response to the onset of COVID-19, Hands of Hope revamped its operations to ensure the safety of our volunteers and clients. We transitioned to a drive-up model, allowing clients to remain in their cars while volunteers placed food directly into their vehicles. This method streamlined our process and enabled us to meet the increasing demand. Throughout the pandemic, our generous supporters continued to keep our shelves stocked and contributed over $300,000 in monetary and in-kind donations. 

​Throughout late 2023 and early 2024, Hands of Hope faced another uphill challenge as the demand for food skyrocketed by nearly 40% compared to prior years. The board and volunteers worked tirelessly to increase donations and improve efficiency in the drive-thru line. We expanded our partnership with the Community Food Bank of NJ to ensure our shelves remained stocked and continued to meet the needs of our community.

Heroic Hearts Project offers a proprietary program to veterans who are interested in pursuing psychedelic treatment options.

We primarily work with ayahuasca retreat centers due to the powerful effect it has shown to have on healing PTSD. Our program has been designed to ensure veterans get the most out of this valuable opportunity and are set up for success when they return home. We also provide financial scholarships to veterans who are struggling financially..

SEAL Future Foundation (SFF) is an organization that was founded for and by US Navy SEALs. Since conception in 2014, SFF has been guided by the mission of providing U.S. Navy SEALs a foundation that supports their well-being, education and career to continue a life of service within their communities. Today, the commitment to such core values has gained SFF the trust of the community and ultimately has allowed SFF to become one of the most trusted partners of the community.

We exist to provide members of the special operations community(active/retire or family) free clinical mental health services. 

SOF Network aims to provide answers for two major gaps within the clinical mental healthcare of the SOF community: finding qualified licensed clinicians, and funding for their services. 

Our mission at SOF Network is two-fold: first, we aim to provide excellent clinical mental health care to members of the SOF community(active-duty/retired) and or their family members. Currently, we are the first and only directory of licensed clinical mental health clinicians who specialize in working with the SOF community. Our network is comprised of clinicians who have all been recommended and vetted by individuals within the SOF community. Our overall goal is to make sure each and every licensed provider has a strong cultural competency when it comes to the SOF community. 

Secondly, we aim to provide free services to the SOF member (or family member) by raising funds and collaborating with community partners in the SOF community with similar goals.

Giving veterans an emotionally supportive best friend while saving shelter animals no one wants. National 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Our vision is an adopted pet in the home of every veteran who needs one. 

We give veterans a renewed sense of purpose by inspiring them to adopt those dogs and cats who are most overlooked at shelters, and share our philosophy of adopting pets for life.

Through our hardship and hero funds, we support veterans in our program experiencing temporary financial challenge or inability to pay for extraordinary pet medical care. In our experience, even modest investments help keep people and pets together, avoiding surrender back to the shelter or economic euthanasia.

We are proud to serve veterans from WWII to active duty, from all armed forces and at any stage of their careers. Animals saved through our program are dogs/cats who are adult, special needs, and chronically homeless, as well as larger breed dogs.

The Ben Jackson Foundation provides financial assistance to help newly enlisted members of the military visit home while on leave.

For newly enlisted military personnel, visits home can be cost-prohibitive. Flights and other travel expenses make up a substantial portion of what younger enlisted personnel earn in a month. The Ben Jackson Foundation was established to help these young people visit their friends and family at home.

The Independence Fund's mission is to empower our severely wounded Veterans and their Caregivers to take control of their lives.

Founded in 2007, The Independence Fund is committed to empowering our nation’s catastrophically wounded, injured, or ill Veterans to overcome physical, mental, and emotional wounds incurred in the line of duty. We are dedicated to improving the lives of both our Veterans and their families. Through our Mobility, Caregiver, Advocacy, Casework, Operation RESILIENCY, Independence@Home and Family programs, The Independence Fund strives to bridge the gap of unmet needs for Veterans and their Caregivers.  

We provide the resources and tools that enable Veterans to regain their independence, and fight for their ability to sustain it.  The Independence fund assists severely wounded Veterans of any era, Caregivers, and the entire wounded Veteran family.  The whole family approach allows for the best chance at sustained success in the Veteran's recovery.

Mobility
Many severely wounded Veterans have lost the ability to experience activities they previously enjoyed. Veterans who use our all-terrain mobility devices regain the ability to do the things they love, transforming their lives toward a better future.

Adaptive Sports
By inviting Veterans to participate in sporting events, providing funding for adaptive equipment, and granting funds for Veteran adaptive sports organizations, our Adaptive Sports Program gives Veterans the opportunity to improve their well-being.

Caregivers
The Independence Fund serves the heroes behind the heroes: the Caregivers who work tirelessly to support wounded Veterans day-in and day-out. We give Caregivers the means to build strong networks and receive the support they need.

Advocacy
For Veterans returning with the scars of war, the fight doesn’t end upon their arrival home. Unfortunately, some of the biggest battles are with the very institutions who are supposed to be on their side. We are fighting for those who fought for us! 

Heroes at Home
Our Family Program, called Heroes at Home, provides assistance to the families of catastrophically wounded, ill, and injured Veterans, through great experiences and a much deserved break from the typically 24/7 lasting effects of war.

Operation RESILIENCY
Together, The Independence Fund and the VA are combating Veteran suicide and reuniting these Veterans with independence. The goal is to ensure the unit that experiences the battle together, experiences healing together.

Independence@Home 
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Independence Fund launched Independence@Home, an emergency program to financially support catastrophically-disabled Veterans, Caregivers, and their families. We assist our Heroes with emergent coronavirus-related costs like mortgage/rent, utilities, childcare, transportation services, home WiFi services, household cleaning and upkeep, grocery and medical product delivery and streaming services for work and learning. 


The Independence Fund

The Transformative Justice Center provides services to the incarcerated and formerly incarcerated. 

Our mission is to advocate for transformative justice, emphasizing empathy and understanding as we work with those who have been incarcerated. We aim to break down the barriers of social stigma, creating a platform for personal growth and change. At the Transformative Justice Center, we see past the person’s history and focus on their potential. By providing crucial support and resources, we aspire to drastically reduce recidivism and help individuals reclaim their lives. At its core, transformative justice works to transform relationships, institutions and systems historically founded in oppression, marginalization, and violence into ones grounded in restoration, respect, and responsibility.

We believe that everyone deserves a chance to be seen, heard, and understood regardless of background, race, class, socio-economic status, political or/and religious views. We know that most if not all people in prison come from painful, traumatic backgrounds, from victims to victimizers. We work to transform prison spaces into places focused on higher education, healing, whole body wellness, accountability and respect. We see that within every human being there exists the possibility to grow, to change, and to transform with the right tools and interventions. We are committed to building bridges being the public and our incarcerated community in order to learn, understand and humanize those most impacted by familial and societal harms.

At the core of our work, we believe in redemption, and that everyone deserves an opportunity to transform their lives. Our center is built on empathy and understanding, providing crucial resources and support to individuals who are navigating their way back to society after incarceration. We appreciate any form of support, small or large, to assist us on this journey towards healing, change, and rebuilding lives.

Mission of NPDF is to “Protect & Support” the efforts of law enforcement, including public safety and child safety programs.


The National Police Defense Foundation (501c3 Non-Profit)(NPDF) provides medical and legal support services to the law enforcement community, as well as funds a variety of public safety and law enforcement initiatives.  The NPDF membership exceeds over 200,000 members and supporters worldwide. The basic mission statement of the National Police Defense Foundation is to “Protect & Support” the efforts of law enforcement. This is being accomplished through the important medical and legal support services provided the national law enforcement community, as well as  everal NPDF law enforcement programs involving public safety and child safety programs.

The “[Operation Kids](https://www.npdf1.org/operation-kids/ "Operation Kids")” program is a multi-faceted NPDF child safety program that (1) distributes free child fingerprint/DNA kits to parents (2) sponsors youth athletic events (3) posts periodic rewards on missing and kidnapped children (4) issues annual scholarships (5) funds Project Pedophile  and (6) arranges lifesaving operations and medical treatment for critically ill children worldwide.

**“[Safe Cop](https://www.npdf1.org/safe-cop/ "Safe Cop")”** is nationally renowned for posting up to a $10,000 cash reward for public information that results in the arrest and conviction of anyone who shoots a member law enforcement officer, anywhere in the United States. The Safe Cop program was also expanded to provide critical medical care and psychological counseling to disabled law enforcement personnel worldwide.

**Save A K-9 Officer Program** This newest “Safe Cop” law enforcement initiative addresses the serious increase of armed assaults on K9 police dogs by donations bullet proof vests to law enforcement agencies. This program is administered and funded by the NPDF Deputy Sheriffs & Peace Officers Coalition.

**Project Pedophile** The NPDF “Operation Kids” program was established “Project Pedophile” in order to address the serious increase of pedophile activity on the internet that has been victimizing our children. The program will reward any child with a $1,000 U.S. Savings Bond for information that leads to the federal arrest and conviction of any pedophile operating on the internet.

Veterans For Child Rescue Inc is a nonprofit organization focused on crime and laws. It is based in Tucson, AZ. It received its nonprofit status in 2017.

Our programs include a full service pantry for food, clothing, household items and furniture. We are open at least twice a week for veterans and military  families to get food and other supplies. Our mission is to eliminate food insecurity in a population often overlooked. 
Our other main program is our Stockings for Soldiers. We ship over 10,000 stockings annually to troops serving all over the world. We ship care packages every month to those that have asked for assistance or just some reminders of home.

We provide snowsports for people with disabilities at Eldora Mountain Resort in Nederland Colorado. 

Our mission is to ignite personal growth, independence, and confidence in people with disabilities by providing adaptive winter snowsports opportunities.

Our History
In the 1970’s, ten passionate University of Colorado students saw an opportunity to enhance the lives of other CU students with disabilities, by providing them access to Colorado’s great winter sport of skiing. In 1975, this dedicated group gained permission from Eldora Mountain Resort to create an Alpine Adaptive Skiing program for ten athletes with disabilities. Since then, Ignite Adaptive Sports (formerly Eldora Special Recreation Program ESRP) has grown into a volunteer team of over 230 people serving over 300 athletes each year.

Today, outdoor sports enthusiasts of all ages and disabilities are welcome to take part in our nationally recognized program. Our dedicated team donates between 15,000 – 20,000 hours (worth more than $350,000 according to The Independent Sector) of their time and energy each year to provide private snow sport lessons to hundreds of people living with disabilities in Colorado. This includes wounded active duty and military veterans served through a US Paralympic Military Program Ignite developed in 2009, in collaboration with the U.S. Olympic Committee.

While other adaptive winter sport programs exist in Colorado, Ignite is the only comprehensive program located along the Front Range and the only program accessible by RTD’s public transportation system.

Our Work
All of us at Ignite believe everyone should be able to enjoy winter sports regardless of skill or ability level. We provide the best possible winter sports experience to each athlete we serve.

Our current offerings include alpine and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski biking, and snowshoeing opportunities. Full and half-day snow-sport lessons run from January through March and are held Thursdays through Sundays.

Our Athletes
Outdoor sports enthusiasts of all ages and ability level are welcome to take part in Ignite’s nationally recognized program. Ignite’s athletes range in age from 5 to almost 90 and have varying disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, missing limbs, paralysis, visual impairments, and post-traumatic stress disorder, with many experiencing more than one type of disability.

Our Volunteers
Volunteers are the key to Ignite Adaptive Sports’ success. They provide 100 percent of our lessons and support all other aspects of the organization – from program management to fundraising – contributing over 15,000 hours of their time, talent and energy, providing over 1,300 individual lessons to more than 200 people living with disabilities. Many Ignite volunteers have family members or friends who participate in the program and return to Ignite year after year.

Our K9s are beloved community members and mascots of the schools they protect, and their presence and support is felt positively every day, creating lasting impact in the lives of many.

Our goal is to end veteran homelessness. We believe no veteran should be without a place to call home.  Haven for Hero’s Inc. is a nonprofit organization, organized and operated exclusively to improve the lives of veterans and their families by providing housing and a pathway to homeownership for low-income veterans.

Our mission is to eliminate veteran homelessness by providing housing solutions and services that will empower and impact the lives of homeless and low-income veterans and their families.

Haven For Heros Inc

CHOP Out Hunger is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger in Pennsylvania through collaborative partnerships. 

CHOP Out Hunger is a collaborative organization focused on fighting hunger across Pennsylvania. Through strategic partnerships, CHOP is providing food access to 45,000 kids a week and an additional 1,000 community members a month. Started in 2019 in rural Pennsylvania, CHOP Out Hunger has expanded across 18 counties and growing! 

Because of the collaborative partnerships with community organizations and funders, CHOP Out Hunger **feeds a child for just $5.00 a week**

Programs include:

**Backpack Program**

Students are given a bag of food every Friday to take home and get them through the weekend. Bags include easy to prepare, nutritious foods, and fresh produce.

**In-School Pantries**

At the high school level, we introduce an in-school pantry that is self-serve to all students. This is self-policed and teaches students to self-advocate for their needs.  Foods are grab-and-go nutritious snacks, as well as food to be taken home and prepared.

**Pop Up Pantries**

Pop Up Pantries allow us to come into a community with a box truck full of food; including, pantry staples, fresh produce, frozen meats, and dairy. As with all our programs, there are no income restrictions.   

**Summer Meal Programs**

Depending on the program, the distribution model varies. Sometimes our team hosts a weekly summer program with a meal/snacks, other times we distribute backpack-like boxes to families

CHOP Out Hunger

Keelworks Foundation is a 501c3; we get people to work. We've helped people get to work since 2009 with resume and job experience.

Everywhere we look, we see the unemployed and the economically disadvantaged. Some we look at and say, they get what they deserve, they did work hard and I did. You can look at this problem with compassion, understanding that it isn't that simple or you can look at it from the selfish perspective: their lack of contribution affects us. 

KeelWorks helps students transition to employment, others with some education practice in area related to experience to gain qualifications for greater responsibility. In both of these, thousands have come and left with paying jobs.

We are building the KeelMaster program to respond to the more challenged unemployed and under employed. This program requires comprehensive assessment to uncover and mitigate barriers as well as identify strengths. It then assigns to small facilitated teams where they learn eight core competencies (self-identify, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, assertiveness, team-building, goal determination, and goal management). Teams stay together with facilitation pursuing goals and supporting each other for as long as it takes for all to be stable in employment. 

The KeelMaster program has prompted the development of a learning management system, a participant environment, a participant record, and several other applications designed and developed by volunteers. Some of these we hope to offer as a vehicle for funding the foundation and an endowment fund. 

For every life we change, we affect families, generations, communities, and nations. We all need to contribute and feel we are a part of some solution. We all deserve satisfying work.

The OGDM - foundation was founded with the mission to ‘help children and refugees from war territories’ in Ukraine.

The vision is to become a global advisory that can tackle crises emerging globally. We began on the first day of the Ukraine invasion as a group of friends with a mission to organise transportation and accommodation for people crossing the border and sending large amounts of humanitarian supplies into Ukraine.

In four weeks time we have grown into an NGO (international non-profit) of over 1,200 volunteers providing various services:

 Founded in 1994, the Remember Museum is one of the most interesting of its kind. It is housed in an old renovated barn and is comprised mainly of items abandoned by the American First Infantry Division soldiers who once enjoyed "R & R" at the Schmetz' s farm when Marcel was a young boy. The artifacts include personal items given by numerous WWII Veterans from various units. It is a museum with a human dimension, made great by its welcoming environment, its originality, its simplicity. The museum strives to serve as the testimony of our gratefulness towards all the G.I.s who, at the risk of their lives, gave us our freedom back. Because curators Marcel & Mathilde (M&M) are nearing retirement, the museum and its contents will be transferred to the King Baudouin Foundation and a board of directors will manage the future of this great endeavor, while keeping it warm and personal much like M&M themselves. Feeding Pets of the Homeless® believes in the healing power of pets. 

Mission Statement
Feeding Pets of the Homeless® believes in the healing power of companion pets and of the human/animal bond, which is very important in the lives of many homeless. They find solace, protection and companionship through their pets. They care for their pets on limited resources so they themselves have less. Our task, nationwide, is to feed and provide basic emergency veterinary care to their pets and thus relieve the anguish and anxiety of the homeless who cannot provide for their pets.

History
Several years ago, our founder, Genevieve, and her husband visited New York City. They saw a homeless man with his beautiful healthy, mixed breed dog at his side. He wasn’t panhandling. She had always ignored the homeless but this time, something was different. She couldn’t get that dog out of her mind.

She tried to imagine what brought the man to be homeless. Was it drugs, alcoholism? That’s the conclusion most people make about the homeless. This man didn’t look like an addict, and she wondered why and how he got to where he was in life. And, what about his dog? It was obvious the dog was devoted to the man. He was not on a leash and could have run away at any time. She was confused about why anyone homeless, who could barely feed or take care of themselves, would even consider having a pet.

When she returned home, she researched the homeless with pets and came across the “National Coalition for the Homeless.” At the time, their estimates indicated that 3.5 million people in America were homeless and that between 5%-10% of homeless have dogs and/or cats. In some areas of the country, the rate is as high as 25%. Most people who experience homelessness are homeless for a short period and usually need help to find housing or a rent subsidy. Unfortunately for those with pets, it becomes more difficult, and many homeless are forced to choose between their pet and a roof over their head. Surprisingly, most choose to stay on the streets with their pets. Why? The answer became evident to Genevieve. Their pets are nonjudgmental; provide comfort and an emotional bond of loyalty. In some cases, they provide the homeless with protection and keep them warm.

Genevieve’s family has almost always had dogs and cats, which made her wonder, what would she do if faced with homelessness? Could she give up her pets? It felt equal to giving up her children. While they would possibly be better off emotionally, it would be a devastating decision to make because of the comfort and unconditional love they give.

It was one of those “ah-ha” moments when she realized that she could do something for those pets. And so began Feeding Pets of the Homeless®. 

Donors have told us over the years that they feel such compassion for the pets of the homeless but were afraid to approach due to safety concerns and welcomed the opportunity our organization give for a safe and easy way to help. 

That one day in New York changed Genevieve’s life. It created a passion she did not know she held that utilized her past education, life experiences, and careers to start this unique nonprofit. Each day, she looks forward to knowing that Feeding Pets of the Homeless® is providing pet food and veterinary care to the hundreds of thousands of pets that wander the streets with their owners. And she looks forward to each day knowing that we can assist the calls from the homeless or about to be homeless.

The homeless with pets are often desperate to find a shelter to go to that will allow their pets. They seek help to find an agency that will give them pet food. They are frantic to find emergency veterinary care for injuries or illnesses.

The LRE Foundation is a growing international, inclusive network that connects people and organisations dedicated to preserving and valorising the tangible and intangible cultural heritage related to World War II, its memory and meaning. The organisation’s main objective is to make this history relevant and accessible, especially for the younger generations. 

The LRE Foundation promotes diversity by developing a multi-perspective understanding of the history of World War II. As each country had a different wartime experience, it is our goal to present each perspective in relation to each other.

Its main projects are :

- Liberation Route Europe 

A certified Cultural Route of the Council of Europe that connects people, places, and events to mark Europe’s liberation from occupation during World War II. 

In order to make the route a physical part of the European landscape, LREF is developing a network of Liberation Route Europe trails that allows new ways of experience the route by hiking, walking, and cycling.

Renowned architect Daniel Libeskind has designed a symbolic family of trail markers called the ‘Vectors of Memory’ that will honour people, places, and stories found throughout the European landscape.

Europe Remembers seeks to create a global commitment to preserve history and eyewitness memories for future generations, and call for an active participation.

It enables diverse communities to reflect on the complex heritage of World War II from multiple historical perspectives. The aim is to teach, to share experiences, and to encourage mutual understanding of our shared past. With fewer eyewitnesses each passing year, Europe Remembers seeks actively to promote new ways of commemorating and remembering World War II for the future.

- Youth Programme

The LRE Foundation is committed to promoting innovative active remembrance and memory transmission projects targeting the younger generations through the LRE Youth Programme. An essential feature of these initiatives is the inclusion and sharing of diverse experiences, applying a multi-perspective approach to WWII history and remembrance.

With HistoryTreks, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, students of different countries get together to reflect on the history and impact of WWII on their regions with formal and non-formal learning methods, including hiking the Liberation Route Europe and visiting remembrance sites along the way.

In turn, with EASTory through their Eyes and Persecution through their Eyes, young Europeans are invited to learn about personal stories of people who experienced WWII and its consequences across Europe, reflecting on the complexity of such shared history. The ‘through their Eyes’ series combines an online and travelling exhibition with youth events in partner locations and is funded by the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values programme of the EU.

Headquartered at Shiloh Ranch in Nevada, we are dedicated to the preservation and wellbeing of our most valued and uniquely American resources, Our US Veterans and our American Wild Mustangs.

Working with advocacy groups and the Bureau of Land Management, we strive to find new ways to eliminate and mitigate the abuse and slaughter of the American Wild Mustang. We take as many mustangs as possible from BLM, bring them to our ranch and begin the process of training them and preparing them for service and purpose, which could range from trail horse, backyard pet, ranch work and law enforcement.

At The Liberty Projects we are dedicated to empowering our veterans. From simple service solutions like resumes or paperwork help to legal assistance and mental health therapy, we provide the means to be the you that you want to be. We are always striving to make a difference, and invite you to learn more and lend your support.

By aligning the unique skills of veterans with wild mustangs, our goal is to promote great opportunities for both groups. With access to the right resources, people and horses become empowered by their own abilities and are able to live their best life. 

For over 20 years the driving force behind The Liberty Projects, JP Hoffman, a service-disabled veteran, informally tried to help vets where needed, from transitioning to civilian life to getting assistance with VA benefits applications or facilitating disability ratings status. It started small as friends would call JP about a son or daughter and then through word of mouth the phone calls increased. JP used his contacts in the VA system, American Legion and VFW to try and assist when and where he could.
A close childhood friend of JP’s named Nick, whom he has known since grade school, sadly committed suicide in 2018.

Nick not only joined the military with JP but succeeded beyond all expectations. While in the military Nick attended medical school, then went from enlisted man to OCS (Officer Candidate School) to become an officer and medical doctor.

In 2017 he achieved the rank of Full Bird Colonel. Nick was actually JP’s primary care physician and they spent time together 3 days prior to Nick’s death. This pivotal event sparked the Liberty Projects. JP has seen too much death and suicide with our veterans and was determined to prevent this tragedy from happening when possible.

​JP is a Master Farrier with a background in ranching, agriculture, rodeo and horse training. His skills and knowledge led he and family to adopt and train wild mustangs in an effort to help where they could. Ideally, it was to show traditional horsemen and women as well as ranchers that the wild mustang is an extremely valuable asset not be so easily dismissed. JP's family and friends would bring vets to the ranch almost by accident where they seemed to gravitate to the horses. They began the process of integrating these vets with the horses and other animals at their ranch. Working with close friends and experts on holistic healing, JP and his close friend Laura Perry formed “The Liberty Projects”. They assembled the best and brightest in alternative wellness programs, equine training and management and veteran advocates to round out the board.

We offer a variety of services for veterans currently:

Disability Rating Re-Evaluations - Many people of unaware that when veterans are medically discharged from active duty they are assigned a disability rating that coincides with the veteran's ability to obtain and maintain employment.  The ratings are from 10% to 100%.  Which could mean a couple of hundred dollars per month to a maximum of around $3000 per month.  One of the inherent problems with this type of system is that when you are young and strong, injuries (physical and/or mental) may not show up for many years or decades. The Dept of Defense through the VA has a path to request an increase in the percentage of disability with a request from the veteran.

This process is handled by a 3rd party medical group. The process includes interviews, reevaluations of medical records, deep dives into personal matters, and takes a long time to complete.  The problem is that most veterans give up long before an increase is granted and most claims on the initial application are denied.
What we do:
We assist in the preparation of all paperwork and documentation. This is done with our team at Shiloh Ranch. Our staff volunteers who are veterans and actually retired from the VA work with the individuals to ensure all paperwork and background information is complete and organized in a manner that ensures the most timely responses back from the Government.

We role-play the various scenarios that can play out during the interview process, which seem to be designed to make a veteran either give up on the process or get them flustered.  This is customized for each case.

While no one other than the veteran is allowed in the appointment. We actually transport the veteran to the appointment, wait in the lobby and then after the appointment, we encourage them to stay at the ranch for a day or two afterward as re-living traumatic events tend to stick around for minute. We find the ranch is a great way to ease the mind.

BrainPaint - While a neurofeedback program can be an effective tool for anyone we exclusively offer at no charge a complete program for veterans. The program takes between 45 and 60 sessions to effectively complete.

We at the Liberty Projects have a Neurofeedback system and have 2 trained technicians. 

The Brainpaint system has shown to be as or more effective than sessions with trained counselors in addressing the severety of PSTD symptons.  The primary benefit is that the participant does not have to talk or re-live traumatic events, all while receiving the benefits of a full counseling session.

The brainpaint sessions are all performed at the ranch in a private office.

Sweats for Vets - True, traditional sweat lodge ceremony lead by our tribal partners.

Equine Therapy - There is no doubt that horses are very similar to humans. We both form bonds, we maintain family units, and we are sensitive to the emotions and feelings of others. Equine therapy has helped veterans for over a decade, and we believe in it too. Some veterans may even prefer to work with horses over humans. Sometimes we don't blame them. We offer multiple paths to achieving knowledge in working with horses. Whether for personal enjoyment and trail riding to more advanced work such as horse training and/or learning how to: shoe horses, team rope, team pen, showing, reigning etc. For our beginners we start with learning horse anatomy, to riding properly and with confidence, proper use of equipment, care etc.

Thank you for taking your valuable time to learn about us. We lose an average of 22 veterans to suicide each day. We need your help to stop the suicides but also to help our veterans live fulfilling lives they deserve. The more horses we can save helps create the revenue to provide more and broader services to our veterans. Our veterans deserve more than what we as a country are providing them. There are 50,000 veteran based charities in the United States. The curious would ask why we need so many private citizens helping our military. The cold hard answer is that the Government doesn't care. They won't care...and its getting worse. 

We are a young charity that has been operating for a very long time on a shoestring. We organized to be able to do more with the help of generous folk like yourself. Our board is volunteer. Our personnel are volunteer. 100% of all donations go to work for our veterans and our mustangs. On April 6, 2012, the fishing community lost a great angler, icon, and friend, Jose Wejebe, host of the immensely popular saltwater fishing television show, Spanish Fly. Through his show and his adventures, Jose shared his passion for fishing and a lifestyle that touched and inspired anglers around the world. At the same time, Jose encouraged conservation, leading his viewers by example to take better care of the environment they so enjoy.

Jose Wejebe never forgot his humble beginnings or those others that helped him find success. Throughout his life and career, Jose unselfishly donated his time, money and equipment to support countless charities including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, The Marc House, Wounded Warriors, Big Brothers and Big Sisters and many others. The charitable work seen on his television series, “Spanish Fly”, documented only a small portion of his generosity. Behind the scenes, he quietly assisted with many more charities throughout the world. He did so out of compassion and kindness, and was humbled by those who expressed their appreciation.

In order to continue Jose’s passion for the marine environment, and dedication to support those who face life-impacting challenges, The Jose Wejebe Memorial Foundation was founded in April 2012. The Foundation will honor Jose’s legacy by continuing his charitable efforts.

The Foundation has worked with multiple organizations to refer individuals that can benefit from leaving reality at the dock, and live in the moment on the water. These include Make a Wish, the Outdoor Dream Foundation, the VA Hospital of Miami, and Wesley House as well as others.

Making fishing dreams come true has been our main focus to be bring some relief to those with life impacting challenges, circumstances over the past few years have led us to broaden our reach to meet other needs. We have assisted fishing communities after major hurricanes and supported local aid organizations during the height of the pandemic. We are also building our Legacy Mentorship Program.

At Trinity Fitness Beachside (a 501c3 non-profit), we use fitness as a way to share the gospel with our community.  In addition, participants are given the opportunity to partner with local and international organizations to effect larger change.  

Finances are never a barrier for someone to attend Trinity Fitness.  Sponsors help bridge the financial gaps so everyone can attend.  We also offer reduce pricing options for "heroes:" military, first responders, nurses, teachers, etc.  We offer classes for students and various sports teams.

We were been blessed with a beautiful new facility in April of 2023.  We are currently leasing but have a purchase agreement in place.  As soon as we raise $220,000 for the downpayment, we can begin paying our own mortgage instead of someone else's.  We are so excited to partner with you and become a permanent fixture in Indian Harbour Beach, FL.
