Next Narrative Africa Institute

The Next Narrative Africa Institute is supported by the Next Narrative Africa Foundation, a fiscally sponsored project of Build Up Inc.. The Institute is changing the narrative about Africa and people of African descent through entertainment media and the promotion of Africa's creative industries. The Institute provides funding to creators of entertaining audio-visual content that shifts the narrative about Africa, grapples with the pressing issues of the day, and improves outcomes for women and girls. The Foundation also funds research and innovation, and brings stakeholders of Africa's creative industries together via events, including our flagship concert event, The Bridge, a celebration of African power, creativity, and narratives on the margins of the United Nations General Assembly.
