A donation to KTH helps support talented students and world-class researchers, and contributes to breakthroughs that address some of humanity’s most pressing challenges – in energy and climate, water and food security, health, and aging. Beyond research funding, philanthropic support is essential for building advanced laboratory environments and investing in the equipment and infrastructure required for cutting-edge science and education.

Supporting transatlantic collaboration

KTH maintains close partnerships with leading universities in the United States, including MIT, UIUC, Purdue University, UC Berkeley, and many others. We gratefully receive donations that make it possible for our students and researchers to spend time at partner institutions in the U.S., and for American scholars to conduct research and teach at KTH in Stockholm.

One example is the UC Berkeley–KTH Summer Research Internship Program, which offers Bachelor’s and Master’s students a unique opportunity to participate in joint research projects under the supervision of faculty at both universities. Each year, a select group of students travels in both directions to work in advanced research environments and build lasting academic networks.

Tax-efficient giving from the United States

Donors based in the United States can support KTH in a tax-efficient way by making a contribution to American Friends of KTH at the King Baudouin Foundation United States (KBFUS). As KBFUS is a public charity within the meaning of Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code, donors may claim the maximum tax benefits allowed under U.S. law for their contributions.
