HiPhi was started as the High Plains Farming Initiative by Trevor Vaughn, with help from advisors Pliny Fisk III of Center for Maximum Potential Building Systems, Tillery Sims of the Sandhills Area Research Association and Kyle Bingham of Bingham Family Organics, to provide education to farmers and utilize science and research to benefit holistic agricultural systems.
The team developed HiPhi’s core vision to help restore the health, beauty and balance in an economic system that opposes industrial agriculture, and that supports rather than depletes nature.The organization will address the profound challenges facing our farmers, communities, and ecosystems to protect, nurture, connect, and share innovative solutions.
HiPhi will develop science-based, proven and scalable demonstrations that recognize the grower as the center of local economies and communities, and to develop and deploy those demonstrated land-based bioregional dynamic solutions regionally and globally.
To bring this vision to fruition we have formed strategic partnerships with other ground-breaking scientists, farmers, and nonprofits who share our vision and that can provide valuable resources, expertise and perspective necessary to HiPhi’s success.
In 2025, we will fundraise to purchase a 334-acre generational farm in Brownfield, Texas, that includes five wells, water rights, two playa lakes, with potential access to a neighboring cotton gin, residential homestead and farming operations. This land has been in the family of HiPhi founder, Trevor Vaughn, for generations, it is available to Trevor for the High Plains Farming Initiative to keep it as legacy farming and agricultural land.
