Dreamers’ Mothers in Action (DMIA) is a community-based organization led by domestic and care workers and mothers who unite to advocate for their rights, support one another, and build a better future for all families. We advance equity and inclusion through local, state, and federal advocacy, while also meeting urgent community needs through mentorship, workshops, and direct resource support.
Your donation helps DMIA expand our proven impact. It fuels leadership development for domestic workers, connects families to essential resources, strengthens community cohesion through events and dialogue spaces, and powers advocacy for fair labor protections and civic participation.
DMIA operates under a Joint Plan of Work with Virginia Organizing, which is a 501(c)3 and accepts tax-deductible financial contributions on our behalf.

PODER VA - Hotline
PODER VA is a campaign created to defend the immigrant community in Virginia amid the increased enforcement activity by polICE (polimigra). Our campaign is led by and for the immigrant community. We exist to protect, organize, defend, educate , and resist —so that our communities can live with dignity and without fear. What We Do: Life-line Support: We provide immediate support and connect people impacted by enforcement to trusted legal resources. Track and Expose Abuses: We document ICE and police activity in the state of Virginia and publicize it for the community to use. Know Your Rights Education: We host community trainings and distribute multilingual, accessible materials, with the latest on the polimigra’s tactics and trends. Push for Pro-People Policies: We use aggregate data collected to push for policies at the local and state level to protect people and employ tactics like litigation to ensure current pro-people policies are being honored. Popular Education: Our hotline volunteers are trained on current immigration and enforcement policies, structures of oppression, and intersectionality of movement to ensure we focus on systemic change. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Virginia ante el incremento de actividad de la polimigra.
