We counter isolation and food insecurity within the Asian elderly community by delivering culturally thoughtful meals & love notes

Donate to support Asian Elderly with care packages of culturally meaningful food that are thoughtfully sourced and curated, then assembled inside uniquely illustrated brown bags with handwritten notes attached in the Elderly's native language. These are all hand-delivered to our homebound Elderly recipients to counter the loneliness and isolation they experience.

Heart of Dinner was founded by romantic couple Yin Chang and Moonlynn Tsai over a shared love for language and food. Their late-night conversations about the global impact of COVID-19 and the heightened racism towards Asian Americans, especially towards the Elderly community, soon became questions around how to create uplifting change that bridge cultural divides and heal communities.

On April 1st 2020, the duo cooked the first-ever Heart of Dinner hot lunches for those most vulnerable around Manhattan's Chinatown area, with a focus on homebound elders who've historically been overlooked by society where they are rarely allocated resources and access to basic necessities for survival. Immediately after its inception, Heart of Dinner's blueprint works in a way that purchases culturally thoughtful and senior-friendly hot dishes and groceries to support in the local small businesses' Covid-19 recovery process. With the help of their values-aligned restaurant partners, a thriving community of volunteers, and incredible donors, Heart of Dinner has been able to expand its reach throughout the different boroughs in NYC.

Equally as important as the meals, Heart of Dinner counters isolation and loneliness within the Asian Elderly population. With the talk of depression often stigmatized in Elderly immigrant generations, Heart of Dinner's mission is to provide comfort, warmth, cheer, and a feeling of belonging in a thoughtful and holistic way that respects and honors the cultural nuances. Since April 1st, 2020, handwritten notes of love and encouragement in the Elderly's native languages have been included with each meal; notes that say "We are thinking of you and we love you!" With the tremendous help of thousands of volunteers, Heart of Dinner is able to deliver culturally thoughtful foods that are assembled inside care packages that are made with uniquely hand-illustrated bags attached with the handwritten notes.

Heart of Dinner has been delivering care packages every Wednesday for nearly three years and has shown up for the Elderly with intention and dedication, never once missing a Wednesday (even showing up during holidays, snowstorms, and hailstorms!) Women of Color Unite (WOCU) is a social action non-profit organization focusing on fair access, fair treatment and fair pay for women of color in all aspects of the entertainment and media industries. Black women constitute only 2 percent of STEM jobs. A statistic that has been stagnant since 2018. Black Women represent the largest unserved market and largest disruptive force in business. Black women struggle at every stage of the STEM pipeline. It’s not due to lack of desire, or capacity, it’s to lack of support.

Black Sisters in STEM (Black SiS) is on a mission to unleash the global brilliance of Gen Z Black Women by reinventing their journey towards STEM based careers. We are building and upskilling the largest talent marketplace of Black Gen Z women to systematically address the racial wealth gap and create generational socio-economic growth. In short, we help Black Gen Z women breaking into STEM careers share, learn, and get hired.

The Innocence Project was founded in 1992 by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University to assist prisoners who could be proven innocent through DNA testing. More than 350 people in the United States have been exonerated by DNA testing, including 38 who pleaded guilty to crimes they did not commit and 20 who served time on death row. The Innocence Project provided direct representation or critical assistance in more than 200 exonerations.   The Innocence Project’s full-time staff attorneys and Cardozo clinic students provide direct representation or critical assistance in most of these cases. Mission Statement: The Strong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition, Inc., by honoring our ancestors, will advocate for victims and their families by promoting safety and a traditional non-violent lifestyle. Working towards empowering people with the tools for independence, courage, and a strong direction to make healthy life choices for themselves, their children, and family.

Strong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition, Inc. works to bring awareness against sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, sex-trafficking, and murdered & missing, in Southern California. The purpose of our coalition is to enhance the capacity of survivors, advocates, victim organizations, and victim services providers to end violence against American Indian and Alaskan Native people. The overarching goal of the Strong Hearted Native Women’s Coalition program is to increase the approachability to improving systemic and community responses to victims. To raise awareness, educate, and to provide technical assistance, training, and supportive services for victims including cultural and unique barriers facing Native Americans.

CodeCrew directly addresses the diversity and access gap in tech. We offer educational opportunities that 1) teach children and adults to code while mentoring them toward careers in tech fields and 2) provide educators with the tools to increase computer science knowledge for all students. We are introducing an entire generation to the 21st-century skills foundational to individual success.  

CodeCrew is directly addressing that access gap in Memphis. By offering educational opportunities that 1) teach children and adults to code while mentoring them toward careers in tech fields and 2) provide educators the tools to increase computer science knowledge for all students, we are introducing an entire generation to the 21st-century skills foundational to individual success.  

Our tech education programs do not just teach students how to write code or produce software applications. Our programs enable analytical thinking, encouraging students to focus on big-picture outcomes and detail-level execution while allowing them to develop their leadership skills and take ownership of their decisions. Computer Science training teaches students to take pride in what they do, to accept feedback and peer criticism, and be excited about sharing their work with the world.  High levels of quality computer science education will transform students into highly paid employees and entrepreneurs, as well as highly effective citizens.  Memphis is finally positioned to become a significant pipeline of African American and Latino tech talent for the future.  But we must continue our efforts. Your gift powers our work.

Building collective power with AAPI women and girls to gain full agency over our lives.

NAPAWF is the only organization focused on building power with AAPI women and girls to influence critical decisions that affect our lives, our families and our communities. Using a reproductive justice framework, we elevate AAPI women and girls to impact policy and drive systemic change in the United States. 

NAPAWF was founded in 1996 to realize the vision of 100 AAPI women who recognized the need for an organization that would amplify AAPI women’s stories and experiences. Being seen and heard in the public narrative gives us the power to shape the policy and cultural change needed to gain agency over our lives, families, and communities.

Today, we are mobilizing and building power in 14 cities across the United States to create social, political, and economic change for AAPI women and girls. We also show up in solidarity for other women of color who are experiencing injustice and harms of oppression and marginalization.

National Asian Pacific American Womens Forum

Raising awareness of systemic racism and racial disparities in the United States through virtual fitness challenges. 

beneFIT Fitness Challenges is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit that raises awareness of systemic racism and racial disparities in the United States through fitness challenges. Many American citizens stand against racism, but do not know how to get involved. At beneFIT, challenge participants can promote social equality simply by moving their bodies. Also, many Americans are unaware of the deeply rooted issues that have perpetuated systems of control for people of color and other marginalized populations for centuries. beneFIT aims to educate others about social injustices by tying the amount of activity and the funds donated to statistics about social injustices that exist today.

beneFIT is focused on painting a picture of the broad, overarching ways in which systemic racism manifests in our modern society so includes challenges that highlight multiple aspects of racial injustice and racial disparities. Participants track their activity using their fitness watch (Apple Watch, Garmin, Fitbit, etc.) and submit their activity on social media. That activity is then turned into a donation that we make to an organization whose mission aligns with the issue we are highlighting that month. 

beneFIT emphasizes the importance of participants' engagement within their physical community and the e-community. Participants are encouraged to explore connections to social injustices where they live and share their experiences/reflections with others via social media which connects participants to the cause on a deeper, more personal and emotional level. As a result, participants are then equipped with the most powerful tool to facilitate real growth and change in our society: a story to be told, a conversation to begin.
