The 'Children New Generation' mission is to enhance lives through comprehensive recovery and disaster relief. We have evacuated over 4,000 people from conflict zones and now support evacuees and aid those near the front lines, ensuring their basic needs for food, water, and warmth are met. True recovery starts with a roof, food, and hot water, but we go beyond, fostering community and mutual support. Our inclusive programs create growth opportunities, especially for children with developmental differences, the elderly, and those displaced by ongoing hostilities.

Until the summer of 2023, our team carried out life-saving evacuations from frontline areas in Ukraine, including Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Kherson. After a year of supporting evacuees at our Dnipro shelter, we’ve resumed evacuations from Pokrovsk district in Donetsk. Our team approaches the frontline daily to help more than 20 individuals rebuild their lives in safer areas. We remain dedicated to providing a lifeline to those in need.

Our shelter for IDPs (internally displaced persons) is located in Dnipro, at Nemirovicha-Danchenko Street 62. The shelter was launched in September 2022, and by January 2023 its capacity had grown to 136 beds. It is currently one of the biggest (1,000 sq.m.) and most comfortable shelters in Dnipro for permanent and temporary residents. Every month, 100+ people live in the shelter, of whom 80% are permanent inhabitants and 20% are in transit. In November 2024, we opened a 60-bed transit shelter for mothers and children in Dnipro, where they can rest and feel secure and receive psychological support; get assistance with clothing, footwear, and hygiene supplies; process documents and find a new place to live in safer regions of Ukraine.

In December 2022, we launched 'Dream Center' — a free center in Dnipro for children with autism spectrum disorder aged 2-8 years old. After the war started, this was the only place where parents of children with ASD (both IDPs and locals) could get individual help from ABA therapists and tutors who were engaged in behavioral correction of children free of charge. We did all this from scratch, including training 10+ specialists. The center is running smoothly, and now more than 40 children continue to visit the center daily.

In January 2024, we joined the World Food Programme’s Ukrainian campaign. CNG was responsible for distributing food assistance in the Pokrovskiy region of Donetsk oblast — the largest single area in the whole WFP project in Ukraine. 91,000 food parcels (13 kg each) were distributed monthly during the whole of 2024, covering ~48% of the population of Pokrovskiy region. This project is of strategic importance for Ukraine, covering 0.27% of the country’s current population and 0.62% of all people in need.

The team of the 'Children New Generation' remains committed to providing immediate aid and creating sustainable solutions for those affected by war. Each evacuation, food kit distributed, and Dream Center session is a step closer to hope and recovery. Together with our volunteers, partners, and supporters, we continue to bring hope to those impacted by war. Thank you for standing with us on this journey!

Help War-Affected Ukrainian Kids with Autism Heal & Thrive

Dnipro is a major hub in southeastern Ukraine with a population of approximately 980,000, including over 174,000 officially registered internally displaced persons (IDPs). These families have lost their homes, security, and often loved ones. Children make up about 15% of Dnipro’s population, totaling 142,000. According to the Ukraine Humanitarian Response Plan (Feb 2023), up to 53% of these children require structured mental health and psychosocial support. Globally, 1% of children are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), meaning around 1,500 children in Dnipro may have ASD. However, most lack access to therapy due to financial constraints and the overwhelming burden of rebuilding their lives. The shortage of facilities and high cost of private specialists further limit their options. Children New Generation, a local NPO in Dnipro, provides comprehensive support to children with ASD and other developmental needs. We evacuate families from frontline areas and house them in two shelters accommodating 256 people. In our shelters, we offer medical and psychological assistance, medication, hygiene supplies, hot meals, document processing, and help finding permanent housing. For displaced children and the local community, we operate the Dream Centre—the only free facility in Dnipro providing specialized support for children aged 2–8 with ASD. Parents can access free behavioral therapy from trained ABA specialists and tutors. Built from scratch, the center has trained over 10 specialists and has supported 4,000 people since opening. More than 40 children attend daily, receiving therapy that helps them integrate into society. Children New Generation is fundraising to sustain the Dream Centre. Our monthly operational costs are $15,000, covering staff salaries, rent, utilities, food, and logistics. Make your contribution today to ensure that war-affected Ukrainian children receive the care they need to heal, grow, and build a brighter future!
