Resilience1220 empowers young people to build resilience, strength, and the tools to master life's challenges.

Resilience1220 provides free counseling services to youth ages 12-20 in the mountain communities west of Denver. Through individual counseling, support groups and community outreach, we work to raise awareness of the social, emotional, and mental-health issues young adults face, and to provide the necessary life skills to create wellness and resiliency in their lives.

Four years ago, our mountain communities faced the reality of three teen suicides. We were made painfully aware of the mental health issues that young people face and the lack of life saving resources accessible to them. Resilience1220 was founded by a group of local therapists and community members. They worked tirelessly to break down barriers to neighborhood mental health resources and the social stigmas around seeking care. We provide confidential counseling services to youth ages 12 to 20 years old at no cost. Our service area includes Evergreen, Conifer, Bailey, Clear Creek, Gilpin, and Park counties.

Counseling sessions with Resilience1220 teach stress-reduction techniques, tools to ask for and provide help, validation, a place to sort through belief systems, and a non-judgmental place to share their feelings.

To provide a home, food, education, treatment, outreach care, and, most of all, love for the disabled and abandoned children of Timor Leste. These children live at the orphanage, and the nuns welcome every child of every race and religion, which is regarded as a gift.

The Need

Alma Nuns welcome children who are disabled and abandoned. They are provided support as required for each child, housing at the orphanage, food, education (including for disabled children living locally with family), and outreach treatment to enable them to lead enriched lives.

The Solution

Alma Nuns provide a home and education at the orphanage where housing, food, education, love, and treatment are given to every child, including outreach programs to provide care and support to families with disabled children.

Our Impact

They have operated in Timor Leste since 2004 and now care for 18 children at the orphanage. They educate 40 children at the school and provide outreach care to 20 families who have children with disabilities. The nuns have helped transform the lives of over 2,000 children since 2004.

Dar-us-Sakina is a safe space for people of all abilities and their caregivers.  We inspire the community to abandon stigmas and embrace individuals with disabilities with empathy and respect.  Together, we are better!

We are dedicated to providing inclusive opportunities for individuals with disabilities, while empowering the affected and their caregivers with social support and access to local resources.  We envision a Muslim community where individuals with disabilities are fully accepted and included, and both they and their caregivers have adequate access to support.

Dar-us-Sakina offers its services to all special needs individuals and their caregivers within the Houston community, but reserves its Zakat fund for Muslim families who are in financial need or crisis. Our mission is achieved through three key service areas: Education, Support, and Community Awareness.

Education:

Special Needs Weekend Islamic School Programs: At four locations across Houston, children with special needs come weekly to the masjid to learn about their faith using an adapted curriculum and to be included in the community.

Teen Adult Program (TAP): This program helps individuals with special needs take the first step to adulthood by teaching them independent life skills in a supportive social environment.

Support:

Caregiver Support Groups: This allows mothers, fathers, and siblings of individuals with special needs to connect with others with similar life circumstances.

Events: From inclusive family events that make all accommodations to caregiver training events, Dar-us-Sakina engages the local special needs population on a monthly basis.

Zakat Services: For special needs families in crisis, we are committed to providing comprehensive support through our Zakat Fund, including funding of emergency respite care, counseling, necessary evaluations, advocacy and durable medical equipment.

Community Awareness:

Youth Inclusion Training: We visit local Islamic schools, masaajid, and Scouts to train typical youth on accepting and including their brothers and sisters with disabilities.

Community Education: We conduct awareness events and workshops to educate the general community on disability awareness and early childhood intervention.

Sakina Internship: This is a one year commitment for college age students who dedicate one day of the week serving individuals with special needs while learning about related topics.

Volunteer Enrichment Program: This is a volunteer buddy program for High School students.

Kyaninga Child Development Centre (KCDC) was founded in 2014 to provide much needed, high quality, specialized and affordable therapy and rehabilitation to children with disabilities and their families and carers in western Uganda in order to enable them to lead more independent lives.  The Inclusive Education Hub provides professional development for teachers in Inclusive, child-led teaching practices and the Mobility workshop designs, develops and manufactures wheelchairs using locally available materials, suitable for the local terrain.

In addition to this, KCDC acts as a platform for education and support in the field of disability, offering training as well as guidance on best-practice methods to both individuals and healthcare professionals as well as communities and other institutions requiring assistance.

About Habitat Lower Keys:
Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Key is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. 

Habitat Lower Keys builds and repairs houses using volunteer labor and donations. Income-qualifying Lower Keys families purchase homes through no-profit, no-interest mortgages. To qualify, the families must demonstrate a need for affordable housing, qualify for the loan, and be willing to partner with Habitat by completing homeownership courses and contributing 200-300 hours of "sweat equity" through work on their home or within the community.

Homebuyer Program:
Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Keys, Inc. does not build houses for families or give homes away; we facilitate a partnership with families who demonstrate a need for adequate affordable housing, the ability to pay a mortgage, and a willingness to partner with Habitat for Humanity. 

This partnership also engages community supporters who join the families in the home building process and provide both financial and in-kind support for building supplies and materials. Homeowners invest hundreds of hours of their own labor into building their home and they pay back a no-profit, no-interest mortgage. 

Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Keys, Inc. is committed to the development of decent, affordable homes. We also are committed to working with partner families to insure that the experience of homeownership is positive and successful. 

Families are trained and supported in a variety of skills, including: basic construction skills to assist in the building of their house; home maintenance skills; various home improvement skills; neighborhood involvement and cooperation skills; budgeting and consumer awareness skills; and others as necessary.

Habitat homes are modestly sized. They are large enough for the homeowner family’s needs, but small enough to keep construction and maintenance costs down.

The labor of volunteers and partner families, efficient building methods, modest house sizes, and no-profit loans make it affordable for low-income families to purchase Habitat houses.

We are proud to be able to provide an opportunity for working families to stay in the Keys, put their roots down and raise their families. 

Critical Home Repair Program:
Down here in the Lower Keys, available land to build on is very scarce. Habitat for Humanity of Key West and Lower Florida Keys also focuses on maintaining decent, affordable homes for low-income families by renovating or preserving existing homes. 

By making critical home repairs to homes owned by low-income seniors, or adults with disabilities, we allow these residents to remain in their homes independently. For older adults, aging in place in their homes extends longevity and quality of life, and safe and stable housing and community networks are core to these outcomes. Surveys of homeowners that partner with Habitat show they’re mentally and physically healthier, feel safer at home, and engage with their family and friends more. Recognizing that safe and accessible housing is a key social determinant of health, Habitat is committed to making repairs focused on safety and accessibility for those in need.

Affordable Rentals:
Recognizing the scope of the affordable housing crisis in the Lower Keys, habitat also provides 27 affordable rentals for low-income families and residents. Keeping our rents below the city and county-mandated affordable levels allows our tenants to focus on why they live here and enjoy the beautiful Lower Keys environment, instead of spending all of their time working multiple jobs just to make it.

For some of our tenants, a Habitat rental can be the gateway to homeownership. Their rental agreement and payment history with Habitat helps them establish credit and show a history of on-time payments, which then helps them to qualify to become a Habitat homeowner.

Why does housing matter?
Affordable housing plays a critical role in strong communities because it is a determining factor for mental and physical health, as well as in educational outcomes for children. Access to affordable homeownership allows essential workers to stay in the Keys, put
down roots and raise their families here, establishing a foundation for building generational wealth. Communities that are diverse across income levels, race and culture are resilient communities. 

Housing that is affordable and decent also reduces taxpayer expenses and boosts the local economy. Allowing seniors to age in place in their own homes reduces the tax payer burden of supported living. Safe, affordable homes reduce public costs associated with
illness and poor school performance in children. Construction and rehabilitation of affordable housing employs local trade workers and powers local businesses.

How do we achieve our vision?
To achieve our vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live, we build with hammers, with volunteers and with families. We build affordable homes for local essential workers to purchase, we make critical repairs to keep residents on fixed incomes in their homes, we build future homeowners through affordable rentals and homeowner education classes, and we build community in the process. We build through advocacy and through partnerships, and by bringing people together to forge bonds, share their skills and share
their stories. 

Our work is needed now more than ever. We must continue to create community, foster opportunity, and generate access and equity for all. A world, and a local community, where everyone has a decent place to live is not only something we wish for, it is the future we build together every day.

Creating a world for kids with intellectual disabilities in Lusaka, Zambia.

Studies in low income, middle income countries in Sub-Sharan Africa have shown that many parents perceive severe disability as worse than death, and ironically, some families might even view premature death as a welcome relief because of the substantial lifetime costs of supporting disabled children without any social welfare benefits, especially in rural settings.  Special Hope Network has stepped in the Zambian community where the government has not.  We are currently working with 325 children and their care givers in 5 Community Care Centers around Lusaka, Zambia.

We believe every child with an intellectual disability has a God-given right to the following: 1. Home - A space where they are loved, nurtured, cared for and challenged. 2. Health - Resources that allow them to be cared for body, soul and mind. 3. Education - An environment where they are encouraged to grow, learn and progress to their next developmental level.

Strongest Hearts is so excited to have you here.  We founded Strongest Hearts in 2022 after our son’s diagnosis with Becker’s Muscular Dystrophy.  BMD is an incredibly serious disease that affects the muscle systems of young boys and men.  Like the more common and more severe Duchenne’s, it is progressive and life threatening.

Strongest Hearts intends to end that threat.  Our non-profit is designed to exclusively work to find a cure or treatment, educate and advocate for this deadly disease.  DMD is the number one killer for adolescents in the US and we search to find a solution that will help over 90% of the DMD and BMD community.  

Like so many people and families, we have felt fear, anxiety and hopelessness and have received massively conflicting data from doctors and websites.  It is time to stop that cycle and move towards a day when we can say that a diagnosis of any muscular dystrophy, while unsettling, is no longer a tragedy.  We truly believe that we have the people, the skill and the technology to end this scourge once and for all.

In many parts of Africa, people with albinism are misunderstood, mistreated and even attacked or killed. We work for a day when people with albinism will take their rightful place in every level of society and the days of discrimination will be a faint memory.

Albinism is a hereditary condition that results in a lack of pigmentation in skin, hair, and eyes.

This inherited condition is characterized by a lack of the pigment melanin, resulting in pale skin, light hair, pale eyes and impaired vision. Both parents must carry the gene in order to pass it on, but they may not have albinism themselves. Although in Europe and North America approximately 1 in 20,000 people has albinism, the rates are higher in Africa, with about 1 in 1,400 occurrences in Tanzania.

The term “Person with albinism” is preferred over “albino” as it puts the person ahead of their condition.

In Tanzania, people with albinism are called zeru zeru, meaning “ghosts.” It is assumed by some that these “ghosts” bleed a different color, or even that they are immortal. These dangerous beliefs incite the brutal attacks against people with albinism. A baby born with albinism may be considered a curse and be killed.

Witchdoctors take advantage of the ignorance and superstitions, fueling beliefs that people with albinism possess magical qualities. They spread the lie that the body parts of people with albinism used in charms and potions bring wealth, power and good luck.

Project Uday: Successfully ensures education of children mainly girls at our schools in Gautam Budh Nagar Uttar Pradesh India for 12 years now. We started with a school in Village Nithari Noida in 2008 which now has 478 children. In 2021 we set a second school in Sadarpur colony Noida which currently has 450 children. In Sept 2022 we moved to rural Greater Noida and setup our third school at Village Changoli which has 480 children.  Education is provided from class Prep 1 to 8, Tuitions from 9th to 12th and 107 students have cleared class 12 exams.  ( 921 Girls – 65% )

The World Health Organisation highlights that only 10% of people with limb loss in Africa have the prosthetics needed to live active lives. High rates of trauma- and diabetes-related amputations in sub-Saharan African countries mean that good-quality mobility aids are more necessary than ever. However, the cost of importing high-quality prosthetic components, plus the lack of prioritisation of government funding, means that institutions often cannot serve the populations who need them. There are high levels of poverty in the countries where we work. In areas with no alternative low-cost options, the cost of a new prosthetic leg - often thousands of dollars - is simply unattainable for most people. Legs4Africa aims to reduce that economic burden by enabling mobility centres to offer highly reduced costs. We are helping people with limb loss to combat the stigma, marginalisation and reduced access to employment that often accompanies the trauma of amputation. And we are reducing the risk of amputees and their families falling into the cycle of poverty. With your help, we can get more people back on their feet. To hear in the silence, to see beyond the darkness

Most people take it for granted that they can use words and images to communicate, but for some individuals, this is not possible. There are thousands of children, teenagers, and adults who have never seen the faces or heard the voices of their loved ones. They are the deafblind: people who have severe visual and hearing impairment. For almost 60 years, the Lega del Filo d'Oro (LFO) has been helping the deafblind to overcome the isolation in which they live. Using highly specialized treatments, the LFO offers every patient a personalized rehabilitation program to develop different skills to communicate and relate with others. LFO's mission is to:  "assist, educate, and train the deafblind, empowering them to lead full and productive lives in society."  To do so, the LFO creates specialized structures, trains skilled professionals, conducts research and experimentation in the field of deafblindness, promotes relationships with Italian and foreign organizations, institutions, and universities, and raises public awareness about these disabilities. In Italy, the LFO is the benchmark organization for the deafblind and multisensory impaired, and it has a presence in ten regions. The LFO operates residential centers in the cities of Osimo, Lesmo, Modena, Molfetta and Termini Imerese, and it has offices in Padua, Rome, Naples, Pisa and Novara providing the local communities with outpatient services. To reduce the waiting list for those who need help, a highly specialized new headquarters is under construction in Osimo which will expand the capacity of the Diagnostic Center and bring together all the services previously housed in 15 different buildings.

The Arc of Essex County was established more than 75 years ago by concerned parents who banded together in 1948 with a desire to ensure a better future for their children with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Today, our wide variety of supports and services enables us to deliver individualized care, tailored to everyone’s unique needs while providing support to families and loved ones throughout Essex County and beyond.

Our programs span the lifetime of those with IDD, starting with our Early Intervention Program for babies and toddlers, through our Stepping Stones School that serves children with Down syndrome and other disabilities, and including respite and recreation activities. When children transition into adulthood, our services expand to include 27 residential group homes as well as supportive living environments throughout the county, day programs that focus on creating dynamic and engaging experiences, recreational trips and activities, and more. And every summer for more than 70 years, The Arc of Essex County welcomes hundreds of children and adults with IDD to Camp Hope, where individuals of all ages enjoy a summer camp experience with peers.

We provide snowsports for people with disabilities at Eldora Mountain Resort in Nederland Colorado. 

Our mission is to ignite personal growth, independence, and confidence in people with disabilities by providing adaptive winter snowsports opportunities.

Our History
In the 1970’s, ten passionate University of Colorado students saw an opportunity to enhance the lives of other CU students with disabilities, by providing them access to Colorado’s great winter sport of skiing. In 1975, this dedicated group gained permission from Eldora Mountain Resort to create an Alpine Adaptive Skiing program for ten athletes with disabilities. Since then, Ignite Adaptive Sports (formerly Eldora Special Recreation Program ESRP) has grown into a volunteer team of over 230 people serving over 300 athletes each year.

Today, outdoor sports enthusiasts of all ages and disabilities are welcome to take part in our nationally recognized program. Our dedicated team donates between 15,000 – 20,000 hours (worth more than $350,000 according to The Independent Sector) of their time and energy each year to provide private snow sport lessons to hundreds of people living with disabilities in Colorado. This includes wounded active duty and military veterans served through a US Paralympic Military Program Ignite developed in 2009, in collaboration with the U.S. Olympic Committee.

While other adaptive winter sport programs exist in Colorado, Ignite is the only comprehensive program located along the Front Range and the only program accessible by RTD’s public transportation system.

Our Work
All of us at Ignite believe everyone should be able to enjoy winter sports regardless of skill or ability level. We provide the best possible winter sports experience to each athlete we serve.

Our current offerings include alpine and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, ski biking, and snowshoeing opportunities. Full and half-day snow-sport lessons run from January through March and are held Thursdays through Sundays.

Our Athletes
Outdoor sports enthusiasts of all ages and ability level are welcome to take part in Ignite’s nationally recognized program. Ignite’s athletes range in age from 5 to almost 90 and have varying disabilities, including autism, cerebral palsy, missing limbs, paralysis, visual impairments, and post-traumatic stress disorder, with many experiencing more than one type of disability.

Our Volunteers
Volunteers are the key to Ignite Adaptive Sports’ success. They provide 100 percent of our lessons and support all other aspects of the organization – from program management to fundraising – contributing over 15,000 hours of their time, talent and energy, providing over 1,300 individual lessons to more than 200 people living with disabilities. Many Ignite volunteers have family members or friends who participate in the program and return to Ignite year after year.

The Pull Up Park Jam is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (EIN: 30-0745794).  For more than 20 years the event has run solely on the financial contribution of the competition host(s).   There have been a small few financial contributors for which we are eternally and extremely grateful.  Additionally, there are also a few notable in-kind donors that provide their time to store equipment, build and upgrade equipment, move and set-up equipment.  Without this ongoing equipment storage, the Chicago Pull Up Park Jam, the only annual calisthenics competition in Chicago, would not exist at all.  The entire Chicago calisthenics community owes this donor and all donors immense gratitude.

For over 20 years, the Whistler Adaptive Sports Program Society has been removing barriers to adventure for people with disabilities and neurodiversity, offering a full range of adaptive sports programs and a dynamic learning centre in Whistler, BC. Canada. We currently operate in Squamish, Whistler, Pemberton and Mount Currie. We also serve locals from across B.C. and visitors from Canada and around the world.

The legal teams at the ICJ are supported by 60 Commissioners, who are expert judges, lawyers and academics from all legal traditions. Eve’s Fund is a small non-profit organization with a big mission: to promote hope and wellness for young Native Americans living on the Navajo Nation in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

We accomplish this mission through our injury prevention, literacy, and educational scholarship programs. We also provide funding to local organizations and programs that share our vision.

Eve’s parents, Dr. Bob Crowell and Barbara Crowell Roy, started Eve’s Fund for Native American Health Initiatives in 2005 as a way to honor the memory of their daughter, Eve Erin Crowell. Since that time, we have developed a strong community presence and our programs have had a positive impact on over 63,000 Navajo children and teens.

Eve’s Fund is a 501 (c)(3) organization incorporated in New Mexico. Our team includes health educators, VIP speakers, consulting partners, volunteers, and a Board of Directors. Barbara Crowell Roy, Eve’s mother, oversees all programs and daily operations.

Our center-based school consists of 11 classrooms. 7 are for preschool students and 4 are for school-aged students. Our ABA Clinic serves students on site, or in their own communities. 
Children are provided with highly individualized programming to meet unique needs and ABA/Applied Behavior Analysis is our approach to all learning and therapy.

With a singular focus on increasing the naturalization rate in Massachusetts and beyond, Project Citizenship transforms the lives and futures of immigrants in the U.S.!  Our free legal services have enabled over 10,000 permanent residents to achieve U.S. citizenship since 2014.  By accepting the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, our new citizens achieve expanded opportunities, greater economic stability, family reunification, a voice in our democracy, and a deeper sense of belonging in this country.  We all benefit when immigrant groups are not isolated but are full participants in our social and civic life, creating more cohesive communities.

Project Citizenship focuses on those who would not be able to naturalize without assistance through the complex and lengthy process. We coach, we encourage, we inform, and we advocate for each client with the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Service (USCIS) - from application to Oath of Allegiance.  We submit requests for waivers of the USCIS application fee and for special consideration for clients who are older or who have a disability. The Project Citizenship community includes over 1,000 attorney volunteers and many local organizations who partner with us. Our clients have a remarkable 95% success rate in achieving citizenship.  Our work is at the intersection of economic vitality, civic engagement, and social justice.

Our Rethinking Autism Programs bring crucial training and resources to parents/caregivers, teachers, therapists, medical professionals and first responders. Optimal Rhythms / Access Academy

The Disability Rights Fund mobilizes resources to strengthen and diversify disability rights movements globally.

DRF launched in 2008 to resource the shifting paradigm about disability from charity to rights. Through grantmaking, advocacy, and technical assistance, DRF supports organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) in Africa, Asia, the Pacific, and the Caribbean to use global rights and development frameworks—such as the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Sustainable Development Goals— to address inequality and achieve rights and inclusion. 

DRF is committed to an intersectional approach, including addressing intersecting identities of gender, sexuality, race, indigeneity, and disability, and strongly believes that a successful disability rights movement must include leadership by people who are marginalized and underrepresented within the disability community. Not only are there unique challenges faced—such as limits on sexual and reproductive health and rights and higher incidence of violence—but there are unique opportunities for leadership. 

Since 2008, DRF and its sister fund, the Disability Rights Advocacy Fund (DRAF), have supported over 400 OPDs across 39 countries to advance nearly 1,500 rights campaigns. We believe that by mobilizing technical, human, and financial resources to support OPDs, we are better positioning persons with disabilities to lead the disability rights movements in their local and national contexts, and to bring disability to the fore of intersectional global conversations.

History of Toa Nafasi
"Nova was sexually abused as a child multiple times starting at the age of six. As a boy child, he had neither the comprehension nor the language to report to a parent or teacher. Growing up with the secret and shame, he learned child sexual abuse is common place in his community. And children with disabilities are twice susceptible to abuse and violence. Studies show 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys will experience sexual violence between the age of 2 and 17. Additionally, 1 in 3 students enrolled in grade 1 have a learning disability of some kind. With this knowledge, he went on to start Linda Community to address abuse and violence and later fold the organization with a learning disabilities project. This birthed Toa Nafasi Foundation – a locally led organization building the capacity of local young adults to support vulnerable children in public primary schools. 

Why Toa Nafasi
Tanzanian education doesn’t treat each child as an individual with diverse aptitudes and learning styles. The curriculum for primary schools barely encourages and supports children from early age and grade to develop strengths, overcome challenges, and cultivate creativity.  In 11 public primary schools in Moshi we have surveyed in 2020, we have learned 30 percent of grade 1 students have a learning disability. In a community where 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys are likely to experience sexual violence (According to a 2009 National Survey on Violence Against Children), children with disabilities are twice vulnerable to violence.

The goal of Toa Nafasi Foundation is therefore to enrich the classroom experience, create a linkage between school and home, unleash children self protective skills and offer a chance to succeed for both student and tutor.

Toa Nafasi addresses three major infrastructural challenges in Tanzania. The first problem is the lack of special education information and programming in the Tanzanian public school system. Nearly 30 percent of students have a learning difficulty don’t respond to standard educational methods. Without effective special education pedagogies in place, these students are often stigmatized as disobedient, lazy, or stupid. The second is the lack of comprehensive body safety education and support in the school system that help students build their ability to protect and prevent abuse and violence. 1 in 5 children experience violence before they are 18 years. And those with disabilities are twice vulnerable. Without taking drastic measures, the children will continue to experience violence with multiple short and long term impacts. The third problem Toa Nafasi addresses is widespread lack of opportunity for young adults. Tanzanian youth under 30 make up over 70 percent of the population yet unemployment rate is 11. 5 percent.

Our Approach

The Toa Nafasi model is a three-tiered approach of assessment, referral, and curriculum modification that build the asset of young adults and enhancing community relations. In assessment, our tutors observe all the children enrolled in grade 1 for social behaviors, adaptive abilities, and motor skills as well as test them for literacy, numeracy, and cognitive skills to get a full picture. In referrals, we work with health professionals and institutions to treat those pupils whom we have identified are struggling due to medical, psychological issues or experiences of trauma. In curriculum modification, tutors work with children who are struggling to reach their potential to help them complete the standard Tanzanian curriculum in a modified context. We've also modified the curriculum to include personal body safety curriculum for children.

Our programs

Toa Nafasi recruits young adults from the local community, and provide them professional development support on child protection and learning disabilities. The young adults work full time as tutors supporting public primary school students with learning difficulties and at risk of abuse and violence.

Each year, the tutors assess students enrolled in grade one to identify children with experience of trauma and with learning difficulties. Then follows a Referral stage where students identified with medical and psychological challenges are taken to care and treatment facilities. The young adults then provide tutoring and psychosocial support in child friendly spaces, and through play.

An important component of the program is community engagement, where the tutors work with families of the vulnerable children, school administrators, justice system, and community development and education offices to better support the vulnerable children, to promote safety, wellbeing and address the stigma often surrounding abuse, violence and learning differences.

Toa Nafasi provides the students with the education and holistic support services, and the young adults that run the program with employment. The impact is not only empowering individual students with age appropriate knowledge and support, but also giving the young adults a meaningful role in the community.

The Els’ son, Ben, is impacted by the disorder which affects 1 in 44 children in the U.S. The world-class pro golfer and his wife have devoted their efforts to a game-changing, philanthropic undertaking – The Els Center of Excellence® Center. The Center is a world-class, 26-acre campus that is home to three distinct nonprofit organizations: Els for Autism Foundation, The Learning Center, a tuition-free, nonprofit, Palm Beach County public charter school serving students ages 3 – 14, and The Learning Academy, a tuition-free, nonprofit, Palm Beach County public charter school serving students ages 14 – 21. 

The Foundation offers innovative, evidence-based programs for families and individuals across the lifespan in three areas of focus: Early Intervention & Education Services, Recreation Services, and Adult Services. We provide access to professional trainers, ensuring adopters have the resources and guidance needed to nurture a positive, lasting bond with their new companions.

**Enhancing Shelter Care and Foster Networks**

Recognizing the stressful impact of shelter environments on these sensitive dogs, our initiative also focuses on improving their shelter experience. We fund experienced trainers to work extensively within shelters, offering behavioral intervention that transforms the lives of these dogs, making them more adaptable to future homes.

Simultaneously, we are building a robust network of short-term foster carers, specially trained to provide a nurturing and understanding environment. This network is crucial in giving behavioral dogs a respite from the shelter, aiding in their rehabilitation and readiness for a forever home.

Because They Matter: Lil BUB's Paws and Reflect Initiative

Our mission is to lower the suicide rate and prevent homelessness in the veteran population.  

Formerly known as Operation Combat Bikesaver. Our flagship program is what we call "Hotrod Therapy," which teaches veterans the skills and techniques to rebuild an old beat up motorcycle and create the bike of their dreams.  Through this distractive therapy veterans also get to work through their problems and end up "rebuilding" themselves as well.  We have seen some great men and women go through incredible changes in this program.  The veteran then gets to keep their project at no cost, and they usually end up sticking around to help mentor the next veteran through the process.  
While we are most known for our Hotrod Therapy program, we offer a variety of programs to improve the lives of veterans that served their country.  The "On Your Feet" program helps veterans going through hard times.  Our weekly veteran peer support group "Lima Charlie" meets every Thursday and gives veterans a safe space to workshop their problems with like-minded individuals who have been through similar experiences.  Our F.A.T. Program, or "Fitness and Tranquility" helps veterans to live a healthy, active, and peaceful lifestyle, which can be an adjustment to some.  Just to name a few.
100% of your donation goes to helping veterans, whether that be a part for their motorcycle build, getting them a safe ride to work in the morning, or enabling them to make positive impact in their community.  
We do not believe in just "raising awareness."  People are definitely aware.  We are making a positive impact.

F2FN transforms lives by helping people discover possibilities, see potential when others see barriers, and advocate for what their children need to achieve their dreams.  By changing attitudes and mindsets about disabilities, our organization changes lives to make sure every individual gets to live THEIR best life.

By 2031, Our Goal is to Help 25,000 Families See Possibilities in their children with disabilities!
You can help us reach our goal by:
1) Supporting the development of a bilingual learning platform where families can access training at their own pace;
2) Providing intensive case management to families in underserved communities, especially our communities of color and those that are non-english speaking;
3) Updating & maintaining our bilingual website that provides accurate & consistent information on the special education process;
4) Subsidizing our annual conference for 500 family members & youth with disabilities.

There are over 127,000 students with disabilities receiving special education services in the greater Houston Region 4 Education Service Center area.  This does not include those receiving accommodations only through 504 plans or children who are home schooled or in private school placements.

Family to Family helps families understand their rights & responsibilities, while also aiding them in understanding the right words to use, right place to look, right person to connect with when trying to find services & supports for their children with disabilities.

Education is the only FREE service available to children with disabilities.  Adult services are not free, and there are over 150,000 Texans with disabilities waiting over 10 years for long term services & supports.  That is why it is imperative for children with disabilities to receive the necessary supports and services at school so that they can become contributing members of our community and live meaningful lives after high school.

Also known as ANAK-Tnk, an NGO that serves the poorest children of Metro Manila through Education, Health, Nutrition, Protection.

Founded in 1998, Tulay ng Kabataan Foundation is a registered NGO whose mission is to serve the poorest children of Metro Manila. Their mission is to raise funds to support the Foundation in Manila and to help every child to reach the fullness of his human vocation, through his basic needs and rights, his desire to study or to get a training, his wish to be reconciled to his family and his thirst for being loved. The goal of TNK is to give back self-dignity and confidence to the children and to lead them to a complete autonomous life. A large team of Filipinos employees (street educators, psychologists, social workers) and community workers are whole-heartedly dedicated to taking care of the 1500 children. Thousands of children have already been helped through the 4 programs of the foundation: Street children Scavenger children Children in slums Mentally challenged youth TNK Foundation is supported by ANAK-TNK platforms. They are associations managed by a local volunteer team.

Muslims Understanding and Helping Special Education Needs

Muhsen is a nonprofit umbrella organization serving children and adults with any intellectual, mental, or physical disability. Muhsen’s aim is to establish an inclusive and accessible environment for individuals with disabilities and their families. Muhsen will assume an active role to advocate and educate, conduct training, and implement programs and services across North America to improve the experience within mosques, conventions, related classes and events, as well as to engender a positive and welcoming community for persons with disabilities.

D×P works in Japan to solve the isolation of teenagers who have difficulties.

In Japan, suicide is the number one cause of death among young people and has become a social problem. Japan is the only country among the G7 industrialized nations where suicide is the leading cause of death. The percentage of Japanese young people who are satisfied with themselves or feel that they have advantages is lower than that of young people in other countries. Young people with various difficulties in life, such as poverty, disabilities, and no place at home, have difficulty finding people who understand their situation.
Furthermore, when they reach a crossroads in their lives, such as "career path" or "dropping out of school," the difficulties that are usually hidden from them tend to come to the fore, but it is easy for them to keep them to themselves. It is also easy to conclude that they cannot survive because they do not know about the various jobs and public supports that exist in the world. There are counseling services for bullying and suicide as places to turn to when they are having difficulties, but there are few counseling services for career and employment.The number of registrations and consultations continues to grow, and we currently have 5,900 registered users.
The teenagers D×P supports have difficulties due to a combination of various backgrounds, such as poverty, having disabilities, growing up in a single-parent household, and being bullied.
In Covid 19, there's been an increase in the number of consultations about living in poverty, such as reduced shifts at part-time jobs, parents losing their jobs and not being able to pay school fees, and not having enough to eat. Many of the teenagers work in restaurants or in non-regular employment, so the impact of Covid 19 has been very significant. Therefore, D×P have started to provide emergency support in the form of food aid and cash transfers.
Without a secure foundation, they cannot take the next step such as trying something or thinking about work. After receiving a consultation, the first step is to provide immediate reassurance and ongoing support while building a relationship of trust. D×P is funded by donations from donors.
