Feature Film: Crybaby Bridge

CRYBABY BRIDGE is a horror feature film that is currently raising funds through donations, with fiscal sponsorship from Women of Color Unite 501(c)(3). Plagued with chilling dreams of a derelict bridge and distant wailing of a baby, a children’s book illustrator recovering from a hysterectomy in a secluded plantation finds herself unraveling a centuries-old mystery. But as she inches closer to solving the riddle, an unknown entity threatens to destroy her... PROJECT SUMMARY "June Huston, an ovarian cancer survivor and children’s book illustrator of an immensely successful series co-created with her writer husband Richard, is recovering post-hysterectomy in a secluded plantation home in Eastern Shore of Maryland. Throughout the ups and downs of completing her final book, rekindling a strained relationship with Richard, and struggling to reconnect with her art, June is finding herself in a downward spiral. One restless night, June is jarred awake by the cry of an infant child. Unable to convince Richard of the aberration, June continues to discover signs that there is something anomalous about this old house. And not before long, she begins to feel changes within. Her complexion, sexual drive, and artistic ambition all return in full force, as if during the day, the house is pushing her toward the light. But at night, another influence is pulling her into the shadows. This dark presence consumes her mind, body and soul, literally leaving dark hand prints on her arms and neck and back, setting up a supernatural game of tug of war. These breadcrumbs will lead June to unraveling the mysterious deaths of a 19th century enslaved mother and its infant child. But in order to solve the final piece of the puzzle, June will need to confront a malevolent spirit that is hellbent on destroying her..." PROJECT MISSION "Most horror-possession films center on a (typically female) protagonist undergoing a transformation of mental, physical, and spiritual decay. She often lacks agency and identity, generally serving as a plot device for a (typically male) hero to save. My intent is to stray from that beaten path. “Crybaby Bridge” is the anti-possession film." Crybaby Bridge is written, directed and produced by Gil McDonald. This is a film project fiscally sponsored by Women of Color Unite. Please find more information about the fiscal sponsorship we provide filmmakers with here: https://wocunite.org/fiscal-sponsorship/ WOCU charges filmmakers a 7% fee over any donations for their service.
