Lasting change is farmer-led.

Founded in 1989, Trees for the Future (TREES) is a nonprofit that partners with farmers in Africa to transform their degraded land into thriving farms. Using regenerative farming practices, farmers plant diverse crops that restore soil, increase food variety, and generate income for their families. TREES and partner farmers have restored more than 100,000 acres of land and improved access to food for more than 475,000 people so far.

As a UN World Restoration Flagship, TREES is recognized as one of the best large-scale ecosystem restoration efforts on the planet. The prestigious Flagship award is part of an effort by the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration to ensure that measurable progress is made on the UN’s environmental goals by 2030.

Greetings from Rukiga Forum for Development (RUFODE), a nonprofit community based organization based in South Western Uganda. RUFODE’s major focus areas include; Climate change, Hunger and malnutrition, water and sanitation, women and youth rights, done through advocacy, and civic education to have sustainable livelihoods. I am writing to inquire, whether Rukiga Forum for Development (RUFODE) can be able to get a grant for tree planting from  Trees for the Future and its network. Rukiga Forum for Development (RUFODE) intends to plant a community forest of indigenous tree species at Harukiri area, in Kashambya sub county Rukiga District, to reduce the effects of climate change. The purpose of this communication, is to seek for your financial support for carrying out this project. I thank you and hope to get a positive response.
