This holiday season, we’re raising funds to create joyful, dignity-centered stockings for our unhoused neighbors—each one filled with a Taco Bell gift card for a hot meal, $10 in cash for whatever they most need in the moment, and a small transistor radio so they can listen to music -- which is lifeline-level important out here, and most folks have no reliable way to access it. Of course, we will also add some goodies. These stockings are care, warmth, connection, and most of all resilience. They also remind people we care, and these relationships are the “secret sauce” that helps chronically unhoused neighbors allow us to help folks take steps toward stability and eventually housing. For just $10/month you can provide two meals cooked fresh and delivered hot the same day to an unhoused neighbors in Oakland-- folks we know by name. $25/month = 5 meals. $50/month = 10 meals! We strive to bring food security to the folks we have relationships with and are working with to secure housing. Not only is it inhumane and immoral, but no one can work on housing when they're hungry, and the constant sweeps are worsening this problem. Its also nearly impossible to stay warm if you haven't eaten. Please help us keep folks resilient, alive, and warm.
