Across the United States, millions of individuals and families are working hard yet remain financially vulnerable—unable to build savings, improve their credit, purchase a home, or access the resources needed to build long-term economic stability. Operation HOPE was founded to address this gap by expanding economic opportunity and disrupting the cycle of poverty through financial education and inclusion. Today, we serve as one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations focused on financial empowerment, helping individuals acquire the knowledge, tools, and confidence to achieve lasting financial security. 

At the core of our mission is our Financial Education Model, which delivers no-cost education and coaching across the U.S. from rural community to urban centers. Our community-based programs focus on credit and money management, homeownership, small business development, financial disaster resilience and youth financial literacy – strategies to make the American Dream more achievable for all. Since our founding, HOPE has served more than 4 million individuals and directed over $4 billion in economic activity into underserved communities.  

What makes this work especially powerful is that the outcomes are not temporary—they translate into measurable improvements in financial stability that can change the trajectory of an individual’s life. Among clients who participate in coaching and education programs, 64% increase their credit score, with an average improvement of 39 points. Clients also achieve a median increase in savings of $1,126 and a median reduction in revolving debt of $1,931. 

The impact extends far beyond individual financial health. Every year, Operation HOPE helps thousands of families take some of the most important steps toward long-term economic stability. In 2025 alone, HOPE served more than 74,000 individuals and delivered over 355,000 financial empowerment services.
