Born out of personal experience and built by a community of artists, ATF is a nonprofit film fund and festival supporting filmmakers, storytellers, and young creatives affected by wildfires and other natural disasters. When the world moves on, we step in—not with just aid, but with opportunity.

Our mission is to help fire-affected filmmakers reclaim their voice through:

- **Funding** for short films, documentaries, music videos, and experimental work
- **Mentorship and support** to bring ideas to life
- A **Young Filmmakers program** to empower the next generation
- And a **festival in Los Angeles** that will showcase  powerful projects in January 2026

Sustainable Joy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is currently directing resources to those affected by the LA Wildfires.

**Sustainable Joy** is a nonprofit founded by Elizabeth Turner and Johanna Moonan in response to the Los Angeles wildfires. When the fires broke out on January 7, 2025, Johanna and Elizabeth were glued to the news, watching in horror as their city was engulfed in flames. As they exchanged texts about their desire to help the community, Johanna called Elizabeth at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, saying, "We have to do something!"

Determined to help, Elizabeth and Johanna decided to open a free shop in Johanna’s store, OpenClosit, located on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. This shop would offer free essentials to families who had lost everything, becoming the first fire relief center on the west side of Los Angeles. Initially, they thought they might receive a few donations and help a small number of survivors. But with 180,000 Angelenos under evacuation orders, the need for aid was overwhelming, and more community members began seeking refuge at the free shop.

As the survivors flocked to OpenClosit, and the Santa Monica community responded with incredible generosity. Local businesses and individuals donated clothing, supplies, and time, and the relief center quickly gained traction on social media. Over the two months the center was open, it provided essential items to thousands of fire survivors.

As Angelenos continue to rebuild, Elizabeth and Johanna remain committed to connecting those who want to help with meaningful opportunities to make an impact in Los Angeles. Their vision for Sustainable Joy is to create lasting, sustainable support for the community while sparking joy and resilience in the face of adversity.

The organization not only offers direct resources to those affected by the fires but also partners with other charitable organizations to strengthen the community. The Safe Water Fund operates as a 501(c)(3) project, supporting the implementation of long-term, sustainable safe water programs worldwide. We partner with grassroots organizations and local leaders to identify and reach communities and families most in need.

In addition to our retail-funded Give-Back program, the Safe Water Fund provides safe water during humanitarian emergencies and natural disasters. Pasadena Humane is more than an animal shelter; we are a community-supported animal resource center providing compassion and care for all animals. Since 1903, Pasadena Humane has offered lifesaving programs and services for animals and the people who love them in the Greater Los Angeles Area. At our Pasadena campus, we provide shelter, dedicated care and new beginnings for thousands of our community’s most vulnerable animals every year. In addition to pet adoptions and foster, we focus on programs and services aimed at helping people care for and keep their pets, such as free and low-cost spay/neuter and vaccines, a pet food pantry, and an animal support call center. In 2022, Pasadena Humane helped nearly 40,000 animals through adoptions, wildlife rehabilitation, lost & found, veterinary services, and surrender prevention assistance.

Ten years ago, my wife Patricia and I had a big dream to start World Central Kitchen. We envisioned an organization that would create smart solutions to hunger and poverty, and for many years we saw an amazing impact through our clean cookstoves initiative, culinary training programs, and social enterprise ventures that empower communities and strengthen economies. But we had no idea we would one day be answering the call in Puerto Rico and around the world – “Food First Responders” serving millions of meals each year. In the process, we learned that a small NGO can change the world through the power of food.

Last year, WCK activated in response to dozens of disasters — some of them natural, and some man-made. From serving children in the shelters on our border with Mexico to making deliveries by lamplight to those keeping watch over beaches in Indonesia, our fight to feed the hungry has taken us to more places than we ever expected.

At the same time, WCK continues planting roots in the communities where we work. Our Plow to Plate program is helping to create food resiliency in the face of future disasters. In Haiti, aspiring chefs are obtaining the skills and confidence they need to elevate their careers and the country’s tourism sector.

With your help, we have shown that there is no place too far or disaster too great for our chefs to be there with a hot plate of food when it’s needed most.
