Since its inception in 2005, Sozo Youth Sanctuary Foundation is a 501 C3 nonprofit that has has lived out its mission to protect, restore and heal youth who have been severely impacted by trauma, and for whom funding support is absent or inadequate. Working with an incredible clinical team, youth and their families are offered therapy, mentoring, and behavioral health assistance. We partner with other agencies, contract with the best clinicians, and provide a holistic approach that is unhurried and ongoing for the length of time each individual needs. No other model in our area offers this kind of consistency or longevity. We strive to interrupt and replace generational cycles of trauma, dysfunction, and despair with healthy relational treatment, using trauma informed therapy, art therapy, equine contact, positive activity, and other proven therapies. We work small so that we can stay with individuals as long as necessary. At present, we have 17 youth from nine families on the slope and in the Denver area. We are living out the Greek word Sozo, which means to heal, protect, and restore. Please be a part of our mission! You can become a regular donor from our website or every.org. Our long-term vision is to achieve capital funding goals to develop and build our Lodge and Retreat on 50 acres of property the foundation owns in Unaweep Canyon, Colorado.
