Sanctuary One is a care farm located in Southern Oregon. Care farming utilizes three element: people, animals, and the earth, that add up be more than the sum of their parts. When one is healed, all are healed, because we're all interconnected. That's the holistic "One" in "Sanctuary One."OPr
Sanctuary One serves over 40 agencies in the West coast. Care farms, such as Sanctuary One, showcase how farming for health can be a cost-effective, natural, and powerful way to promote healing. They set an example for treating animals with compassion and respecting their inherent physical and spiritual worth. Additionally, these farms highlight how the environment that supports us all can be continuously enhanced through organic and permaculture-inspired farming methods.
As a care farm, Sanctuary One takes a holistic and tailored approach to addressing Southern Oregon’s mental health challenges––providing nonclinical therapy through service learning, job training, outdoor education, animal care, and horticultural therapy.
All animals at the care farm are taken from regional rescues and government entities, helping ease the stress points of overcrowded shelters. Animals are rehabilitated and, when appropriate, adopted. Animals not adopted live their lives out at the farm.
Produce grown in our Healing & Learning garden, and throughout the property, is donated to local food banks.
