Reserva is an international, youth-led nonprofit currently represented by more than 125 youth from 32 countries. Our work focuses on creating and supporting protected areas in biodiversity hotspots through strong local partnerships—all through youth action.
We launched in 2019 after looking at the models of highly effective organizations like Rainforest Trust and Re:Wild and asking the question, "how would this look through the lens of youth empowerment?" We teach young people how to identify impactful projects, collaborate with local partners, and plan and execute our support. Our projects typically involve a combination of fundraising, volunteer scientific fieldwork, and media campaigns—activities that play to the strengths of young people.Â
Half the global population is 31 or younger, and it’s critical that we not only get their help, but that we build the pathways that empower them to help solve the climate and biodiversity crises. With your help, we can build a world where young people inherit and help maintain a biodiverse planet.
