Ranking Digital Rights (RDR) is an independent non-profit initiative, fiscally sponsored by Superbloom Design, that has set transparency standards in the tech sector for more than a decade.
We assess the world's most powerful tech companies and their primary services on practices that affect human rights, including privacy, freedom of expression, and freedom of information. Our roots are in research, investigative journalism, and advocacy. Human rights frameworks and scrutiny of extractive business models anchor our work.
Our flagship RDR Index evaluates tech giants on critical issues ranging from algorithmic transparency and content governance to government demands and data handling. Digital rights experts have described it as the gold standard for transparency in the tech sector.
Donating to RDR means supporting grassroots efforts to hold tech giants accountable. It also strengthens new non-profit operating models that put autonomy, community governance, shared resilience, and solidarity at their heart.
- We take pride in our independence and do not accept funding from tech giants or other corporate actors.
- We believe mutual aid and distributed structures are the best response to the omnicrisis. In 2026, we will embody this ethos as a newly autonomous initiative.
- All of our new projects are built around community partnerships. We seek co-funding whenever we can to foster shared power and avoid extractive dynamics.
