OpenSecurityTraining2 (OST2) is dedicated to making free cybersecurity training available to everyone in the world, regardless of their background. We do this by gathering like-minded instructors who want to make a big impact for good by training and leveling up the skills of thousands of students at a time. This allows us to get to the end goal of secure computing systems much faster than approaches like paid training, certificates, or traditional colleges make possible. And at the same time

Let's gamify OST2!
Let's make learning on OST2 more fun, by adding gamification! RaccoonGang has a gamification plugin for Open edX, shown here: User Interface Adding this capability for badges and leaderboards will help make OST2 more fun, and provide additional motivation for students to finish classes. It will also provide new capabilities for students to track sub-class knowledge and accomplishments, and show them off on their profile. And we also plan to add new manually-verified accomplishments for students to show off - things like speaking at security conferences, publishing in high quality zines, publishing their own original research on a blog, releasing security tools, volunteering at OST2, etc! However, the RacoonGang add-on is not cheap - costing ~$5000/year. We need your support to help us fund the plugin not just for the first year, but for many years to come.
