We want to make it simple for anyone to help the environment by planting trees. Together, we can restore forests, create habitat for biodiversity, and make a positive social impact worldwide. We are action-oriented and seek to have an impact through quality and community-driven tree-planting projects throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Pacific.

One Tree Planted engages and impacts populations all over the world. In just nine years, we have gotten over 100 million trees in the ground through new and established relationships with over 463 planting partners. In 2022 alone, we planted over 52 million trees within 327 planting projects in 74 countries across six regions and have potentially sequestered more than 10 million tons of carbon over the next 20 years. Through these projects, we helped to:

  • create 2,438 jobs,
  • support 50,582 farming families,
  • engage over 32,000 volunteers, and
  • restore 97,769 hectares of land.

One Tree Planted has impacted populations at all levels. On a macro level, One Tree Planted has helped to reduce the adverse effects of carbon emissions, air pollution, and global warming. It has inspired and engaged individuals, schools, foundations, and businesses to take action to combat climate change. It has restored landscapes for economic, social, and environmental well-being. On a micro level, it has supported community development by building and beautifying urban green spaces and improving air and water quality. It has helped underdeveloped communities become resilient and self-sufficient, develop sustainable economies, and provide income, food, and heating to support families. Its action and positive storytelling have inspired many and boosted the sense of community all around the world.

Plant Trees for Biodiversity

Biodiversity, the variety of life on Earth in all forms and interactions, thrives in healthy habitats where nature can recover after ecological disturbance. Reforestation is essential for this process. Planting trees for biodiversity will contribute to: Protecting endangered species by increasing forest cover Restoring holistic ecosystems for a range of flora & fauna Improving soil stability by restoring degraded areas OVERVIEW We are facing a climate crisis and the rapid loss of Earth's remaining wild places. As we lose habitats, we also lose biodiversity. This is where trees come in! Reforestation helps to restore at-risk ecosystems and habitats, ultimately increasing food supply, health, and overall well-being of amazing animals.Your donation will help to restore forest cover in Uganda, Australia, and the Pacific Northwest. Reforesting these areas will aid in the protection of endangered species, restoration of holistic ecosystems, and improvement of soil stability. IMPACT With the presence of a regenerating forest, we will create a safe haven for biodiversity. This brings a wide array of habitats, leading to a significant increase in species numbers. The restoration of degraded areas will also result in better soil stability, ultimately improving forest cover as a whole! TREE SPECIES In order to maximize biodiversity across our multiple projects, we will plant an array of tree species such as Terminalia arjuna, Cassis fistula, Careya arborea, Ficus racemosa, Palo de tinto (Haematoxylum campechianum), Guacimo (Guazuma ulmifolia), Palo de rosa (Tabebuia rosea), Juniperus procera, Croton megalocarpus, Prunus africana.

Plant Trees for Forest Fire Recovery

Reforestation is one of the best ways to restore lands that have been degraded by forest fires. Plant trees in British Columbia, Alberta, and more to help restore what has been lost. With your help, we will: Reforest lands damaged by record-setting fires Support habitat for iconic biodiversity Create a positive impact for generations to come OVERVIEW Year after year, forest fires grow in intensity as climate change continues to provide the perfect conditions for these fires to flourish. The good news is, reforestation can help restore these lands. Around the world, we’re planting trees in areas that have been severely affected by forest fires and aren't able to recover a healthy ecosystem on their own. These trees will be planted in places like British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, Mexico, Bhutan, and more to help support habitats, reforest lands, and create a positive impact for generations to come. Help restore these vital ecosystems by planting a tree IMPACT Forest fires are increasing in size and severity, damaging vital ecosystems and creating a need for millions of trees. With so much fire damage, reforestation is essential to catalyze the environmental recovery process. The trees are carefully planted to prevent invasive species from colonizing burn scars and restore quality habitat for native biodiversity. Let's get to work! 🌲 TREE SPECIES To maximize the impact of your donation, our partners on the ground will determine the most appropriate species of tree and shrubs. We only plant native tree species that will restore the local ecosystem, re-establish wildlife habitat, and reduce the likelihood of future fires.
