Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute (NYLI) is a Philippine youth-led nonprofit that empowers children and young people to lead inclusive, rights-based, and climate-resilient development. We work in communities where poverty, inequality, climate change, and limited access to quality education and opportunities prevent young people from reaching their full potential. Rather than treating children and youth as beneficiaries, we equip them as leaders and partner with local governments, schools, civil society, and the private sector to co-create lasting solutions.
Since 2019, NYLI has developed and scaled locally led innovations that strengthen education, workforce readiness, renewable energy access, civic participation, health, and community resilience. Our work ranges from establishing solar-powered schools and youth centers in off-grid communities to building youth leadership networks, creating safe spaces for children and young people, supporting learning recovery, and advancing policy reforms that amplify community voices. Across every initiative, we combine direct community action with systems strengthening to ensure solutions continue long after individual projects end.
Our approach is grounded in the Transforming Engagement for Democracy (TED) Framework, which places communities at the center of decision-making. Every intervention is co-designed with local stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are owned, managed, and sustained by the people they serve. By strengthening local institutions, empowering young leaders, and generating evidence for policy change, NYLI transforms communities from recipients of development into partners in shaping it.
By 2030, NYLI aims to empower one million children, young people, and their communities across the Philippines through building scalable models that improve lives today while creating stronger, more resilient communities for generations to come.

Landmark of Hope
The Landmark of Hope will be a climate-smart youth hub and well-being center where children and young people can learn, heal, connect, and take action for a better future. Designed as a safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible space, the Landmark of Hope will bring together youth leadership development, skills training, climate action, mental health and psychosocial support, and community learning under one roof. It will provide young people with the knowledge, confidence, skills, and support they need to navigate a rapidly changing world—and to become leaders in building resilient and thriving communities. At its heart will be a Well-Being Center that provides accessible, youth-friendly spaces and services for mental, emotional, social, and physical well-being. The hub will also house training and learning spaces where children and young people can develop employability and entrepreneurial skills, explore innovation, strengthen leadership capacities, and design solutions to the challenges facing their communities—including the growing impacts of climate change and disasters. The Landmark of Hope will itself demonstrate what a climate-smart future can look like. Through sustainable design, resource-efficient systems, climate-resilient features, and spaces that encourage environmental stewardship, it will become a living learning laboratory where young people can experience and practice solutions for a more sustainable future. This is more than a building. It is an investment in young people. It is a safe space for healing, a place for learning and innovation, and a platform for young people to turn hope into action.
