National Psychedelic Studies Association

Psychedelic research is having a moment in American academia. Harvard, Yale, Johns Hopkins, NYU, UC Berkeley -- the programs are multiplying, the research is serious, and students are organizing around it at universities across the country.

But every campus is still figuring it out alone.

Student clubs lose their institutional knowledge every year when leadership graduates. Club leaders at one university have no idea what's working at another. Faculty advisors and researchers who could be supporting these clubs have no easy way to find them. The infrastructure that would connect all of this doesn't exist yet.

That's what NPSA is building.

What we do

NPSA is a student-centered coordination layer for campus psychedelic education. We connect student clubs to each other, to researchers and educators, and give them the operational tools to build something that actually lasts.

That means governance templates, leadership handoff kits, event planning frameworks, and direct connections to peer clubs doing the same work at other schools. It means a network that gets stronger as more clubs join. And it means a pathway for students who want careers in psychedelic research, policy, or clinical work -- not just a club to attend in college.

Our first two founding chapters are the Harvard Undergraduate Psychedelics Club and the UVM Psychedelic Science Club.

Where your donation goes

NPSA is a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 41-4597676, effective February 28, 2026). Your contribution is tax-deductible and goes directly toward:

  • Expanding the founding chapter network to student clubs across the country
  • Building shared resources, events, and programming that clubs can't access on their own
  • Keeping NPSA free for student clubs to join

Why this matters

The science on psychedelics is increasingly compelling -- for mental health, for trauma, for conditions that haven't responded to existing treatments. Students entering this field deserve real infrastructure: a network, a career pathway, and organizations built to last past the next election cycle.

NPSA is that infrastructure, built from the ground up, starting with the students.
