National Children's Alliance

Every child deserves to feel safe, be heard and have the opportunity to heal after abuse.

National Children's Alliance (NCA) is the national association and accrediting body for Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs) and state chapters across the United States. We strengthen the nationwide Children's Advocacy Center movement by providing training, accreditation, advocacy, research and innovation that help communities respond to child abuse with compassion, expertise and coordination.

When a child experiences abuse, navigating multiple agencies and systems can be overwhelming. Children's Advocacy Centers bring together law enforcement, child protection, medical providers, prosecutors, victim advocates, mental health professionals and other partners to provide a coordinated, child-focused response that reduces trauma and helps children and families begin the healing process.

NCA supports this work on a national scale. We strengthen nearly 1,000 accredited CACs and State Chapters that serve children and families in communities across the country. By investing in NCA, donors help strengthen the systems, standards and professionals that make high-quality care possible for hundreds of thousands of children each year.

What We Do

Strengthen Children's Advocacy Centers
NCA provides accreditation, best practices and ongoing support to help Children's Advocacy Centers deliver consistent, high-quality services for children and families affected by abuse, regardless of where they live. Our accreditation process establishes nationally recognized standards that promote excellence, accountability and continuous quality improvement.

Train Child-Serving Professionals
Through national conferences, online learning, specialized training and technical assistance, NCA equips professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively to child abuse. We provide training in forensic interviewing, victim advocacy, multidisciplinary team collaboration, evidence-based mental health services and other critical areas that improve outcomes for children.

Expand Access to Mental Health Care
Healing from trauma requires more than a successful investigation—it requires access to effective treatment. Through the NCA Institute for Better Mental Health Outcomes, we work to expand the availability of evidence-based mental health services by training clinicians, supporting workforce development and increasing access to proven treatments for children and families.

Advance Quality and Innovation
NCA continually works to improve how communities respond to child abuse by promoting best practices, supporting research, evaluating outcomes and developing innovative solutions that strengthen the Children's Advocacy Center movement. We believe every child deserves the highest standard of care, regardless of where they live.

Champion Children Nationwide
NCA advocates for policies and resources that strengthen Children's Advocacy Centers and improve the response to child abuse nationwide. We also support prevention initiatives that help communities build safer environments for children and raise awareness about protecting children from abuse.
