Inception- Ladli Foundation, India

Driven by concerns of health, education & equality for vulnerable women as an integral and critical dimension of human rights, Ladli Foundation became a reality in 2012 as a grassroots social catalyst. It was founded by Devendra Kumar, whose incredible journey began as a child laborer in a poverty-stricken environment. Where he faced numerous hardships and atrocities during his orphaned and challenging childhood. Born in a crime-prone slum, he endured abandonment by his parents, who left him with his three-day-old infant sister when he was just two years old. Despite these adversities, Devendra's indomitable spirit and resilience led him to find solace and purpose in serving others.

Driven by his determination to protect his sister from child marriage and dowry, Devendra founded the Ladli Foundation with the noble mission of uplifting the oppressed and disadvantaged. His personal experiences as a child laborer and his encounters with delinquents and drug addicts further fueled his commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of those facing similar challenges.

Listed as a credible public charity organization by the Niti Aayog- the highest policy-making body of the Government of India and accredited with various union, states governments It has been and is known to bring positive reformative changes in society with a mission of building gender-sensitized inclusive society with equal access to basic, essential amenities and services, healthcare, education, work-force participation etc by women- the foundation has been diligently working in 50

Give new Life to Vulnerable Unmarried Slum Women

In India, many slum women face exploitation and trafficking due to delayed marriages, as marriage is a safeguard against social evils. Lack of resources often leads to postponement of marriages. Mass weddings offer a solution, easing financial burdens and benefiting around 1000 disadvantaged women. This initiative aims to transform lives, reduce dowry-related violence, and empower underprivileged women, fostering positive societal change .High rates of exploitation and trafficking threaten slum women in India due to delayed marriages. Approximately 27% of girls marry before 18, leading to early pregnancies. Dowry-related violence resulted in 7,099 reported deaths in 2019. Financial burdens from dowry demands and wedding expenses exacerbate the issue. Gender disparities persist in education, with fewer disadvantaged girls completing schooling. Despite government initiatives for mass marriages, many women still lag behind. This initiative aims to organize mass marriages for destitute women awaiting support for their weddings. It will enable them to start their new lives equipped with social security, protecting them from social evils and the risks of exploitation and trafficking. The long-term impact of this initiative will be multifaceted. Firstly, it will empower disadvantaged women by providing them with the necessary support to enter into marriage securely, thereby reducing their vulnerability to exploitation and trafficking in the future. Secondly, it will contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty by alleviating the financial burden associated with marriage expenses, allowing these women to invest in their education, livelihoods, or other productive endeavors.

Save 1000 Young Boys from Drug Abuse & Crimes

This an ongoing program actively working to rehabilitate 1000 Slum Boys entangled in drug abuse and criminal activities by immersing them in sports and recreational pursuits. Through skill development and employment opportunities, our distinctive MDI approach-Motivate, Divert, and Involve-strives to guide them through STEP: Sensitization, Transformation, Employment, and Prevention. In urban Indian slums, approximately 15-20% people engage in drug abuse, with a significant number aged between 15 to 35 . Poverty, illiteracy , family problems, exposure to violence, and Unemployability make these young boys vulnerable. Drug abuse amongst these young boys leads to theft ,robbery ,and organized crimes .This is a challenging situation specially in slums where there is minimum law enforcement .This project will involve these young minds into productive activities like sports ,dance ,theatre ,skill trainings where they will get motivated to pursue their interests ,rather than getting involved in drugs and substance abuse they will divert there energies to something useful ,and when they will start getting job opportunities it will be a great motivation for them to give a better direction to their lives . This project will empower around 1000 delinquents allowing them to live a better life and rise out of poverty and drugs .Not only these 1000 delinquents but their families , will also come out of those mental traumas ,when your kid is involved in criminal activities family face a lot from society .Our project will help them become useful and productive citizens .
