Our ecosystems are in crisis. Since 1986, HawkWatch International (HWI) has been finding solutions by studying raptors with on-the-ground science and creating informed communities by engaging them with the natural world. Our mission is to conserve our environment through education, long-term monitoring, and scientific research on raptors as indicators of ecosystem health.

We are committed to engaging with communities nationwide through our education and outreach programs and numerous community science projects. We believe that raptor conservation requires scientific engagement from and with the community at large. HWI’s programs also help build and shape scientists through education, outreach, internships, volunteer programs, and seasonal employment opportunities for young professionals.
