Flying J Ranch is a faith-based nonprofit in Red Bluff, California, dedicated to helping individuals and families heal, rebuild, and reconnect through animals, nature, and faith. Founded by cancer survivor Jenyfer R. Simons, the ranch was born from a simple but powerful truth — that the peace and strength found in caring for animals can restore the human spirit.

When Jenyfer was diagnosed with stage 3 brain cancer, she was told her future was uncertain. She chose faith over fear and made a promise to God: if she survived, she would spend the rest of her life helping others find the same hope and calm that the ranch life once gave her. Flying J Ranch is the fulfillment of that promise — a sanctuary where people can breathe, reconnect, and remember that miracles still happen.

🐴 Our Mission

Flying J Ranch exists to bring hope, healing, and purpose to those facing illness, grief, or hardship by combining equine therapy, ranch experiences, and faith-based mentorship. We believe that people and animals can heal together — and that connection to nature can renew even the most weary heart.

Our goal is to create a place where:
• Cancer survivors and their families find comfort and community.
• Children and adults struggling with loss, anxiety, or trauma rediscover trust through gentle interactions with horses and animals.
• Faith, courage, and kindness grow stronger through hands-on ranch work and reflection in nature.

Flying J Ranch blends traditional ranching values with modern-day compassion. Every part of the ranch — from the horses and cattle to the trees and open sky — plays a role in healing.

1. Equine Therapy & Animal Connection
Guests engage in guided, peaceful experiences with horses and cattle. Grooming, walking, or simply being near them helps calm anxiety, build confidence, and restore trust.

2. Faith-Based Healing Retreats
Our retreats invite individuals and families to step away from daily pressures, reflect, and draw closer to God. These days of rest and prayer remind visitors that peace is possible even amid life’s storms.

3. Cancer Recovery & Mentorship
Because Flying J Ranch was created by a survivor, our programs are rooted in understanding. We walk alongside those enduring treatment or recovery, offering encouragement, care packages, and mentorship inspired by real-life resilience.

4. Youth Programs & Work Experience
Through partnerships with 4-H, FFA, and local schools, students learn about agriculture, animal welfare, stewardship, and faith-based leadership. Each young person who visits gains more than skills — they gain a sense of belonging and confidence.

5. Community & Family Events
Our vision includes hosting open-ranch days, volunteer opportunities, and special “Healing Together” events where cancer survivors, children, and families can meet animals who have also recovered from injury or illness. These shared stories of perseverance bridge hearts and inspire hope.
