The Foundation for Classical and African Art Music (FCAAM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the performance, preservation, education, and advancement of classical music traditions, with particular emphasis on African art music and its global diasporas.
Through concerts, festivals, education, artist development, recordings, and community partnerships, FCAAM works to ensure that important musical traditions are not only preserved, but heard, studied, performed, and carried forward by future generations.
Our programs include the Brooklyn Recital Series, The Bridge — Black History Month Festival, Juneteenth Music Festival, and the African Art Music Incubator, alongside our Beyond the Concert Hall initiative, which brings classical music into libraries, churches, parks, community spaces, and other settings beyond traditional concert venues.
We are committed to expanding access to high-quality classical music experiences, increasing the visibility of African and diasporic composers and repertoire, supporting professional and emerging artists, and creating meaningful opportunities for communities to connect through music.
Your donation helps support artist fees, free and accessible performances, educational programming, preservation and recording projects, community partnerships, and the continued growth of FCAAM's programs.
Preserving Heritage. Inspiring Excellence.
