Dulcimoon is a vibrant, woman-led virtual dulcimer festival dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive community for players of all levels. Our mission is to celebrate the spirit of collective exploration, personal expression, and joyful learning, while highlighting the inspiring contributions of women in the dulcimer world. Children are welcome and encouraged to participate in free workshops and online activities created just for them!

Your donations support a scholarship fund for the festival, twice per month Dulcimoon Talks interviews, and community events hosted online for mountain and hammered dulcimer players.

Dulcimoon Around the World Summer Fundraiser

Dulcimoon is a vibrant, woman-led, virtual dulcimer festival and community where all are welcome. We shine a light on the women of the dulcimer community – as musicians, teachers, event producers, luthiers, and creators. Our mission is to nurture a global community culture that celebrates the spirit of collective exploration, personal expression, and joyful learning, while highlighting the inspiring contributions of women in the dulcimer world. But we do not do this work alone. Grant funding helped us establish the Dulcimoon project and build our website infrastructure. Now, we’re turning to YOU, our community, to help us maintain AND expand our programming. Dulcimoon currently produces an annual festival, twice monthly ‘Dulcimoon Talks’ interviews, and periodic special events like workshops and jams throughout the year. Your tax-deductible donations underwrite these projects so that we can continue developing high-quality music education events and resources that are accessible for the whole community.  Here’s where your money goes: Scholarships for the festival and other events to provide financial aid to those in need Free kids programs at the festival Ongoing website maintenance & updates Increasing visibility of Dulcimoon Talks by editing and distributing them as a podcast Guaranteed fair wages for the women we hire, even if attendance is low for an event Development of new programs in response to participant feedback Will you join us as we build this community Around the World?
