Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access Scholarship Fund
In Right Relationship with Creativity and Equity Many artists carry ancestral wisdom, community-rooted stories, and visionary offerings that the world deeply needs. At the same time, systemic barriers continue to limit access to creative spaces and resources, especially for those whose communities have been historically excluded or marginalized by colonial systems and systemic injustice. The Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (IDEA) Scholarship Fund helps shift that reality. It supports artists from communities that have been historically excluded from creative leadership and access to education. These include Black, Indigenous, and people of color, LGBTQIA+ individuals, disabled and neurodivergent people, low-income creators, and visionaries from the Global South. This fund supports reciprocity and invites shared responsibility for resourcing the collective future we’re all a part of. We are seeking to raise $38,000 to make coheART 4 fully tuition-free for all 10 participants. Contributions directly fund access, care infrastructure, mentorship, and learning resources. Your support would help the DSS provide: Full tuition scholarships ($2,400 -$3,800 sliding scale per artist) Language interpretation and captioning Accessibility accommodations Stipends for mentors, facilitators, and cultural elders Tools for time-zone equity and international participation Community care and trauma-informed facilitation practices With enough support, we can ensure the coheART 4 experience is accessible to all who feel called to join. $2,400 - $3,800 sponsors full participation for one artist $1,200 funds a Global South participant $760 provides one month of engagement $95 helps cover a week of access and mentorship Words from the Community “Design Science Studio has emerged for and by the architects of the future. It was the singular most profound turning point in my career.” Umair Zia, Evolutionary “Creating space for collaboration is a radical form of artistry. The Design Science Studio is a rare and wonderful gift, a public commons for cross-pollination combined with a private incubator to nourish new works.” Evo Heyning, Evolutionary “I had the idea many years ago, but it wasn't until I joined DSS that I had the space and support to develop the first prototype. Some of my early playtests were with the DSS community - it gave me the confidence to develop this experience into it's current offering.” Jenny Gottstein, Evolutionary “When Camp Cosmo was nothing but a potential I held in my heart, the DSS, the coheART 2, and everything beyond helped me to never stop believing in my vision. And for me, this was the way from vision to mission, from mission to plan, from plan to action.” Clara Espe, Evolutionary “As we begin to activate a networked bioregional movement through our collaborative initiative framework, I will be calling upon the network of DSS artists whose creative expression is essential to the co-creation of bioregional hubs around the world that support the redesign of our systems.” Benjamin Life, Evolutionary Ways to Contribute There are many pathways into this work. You are welcome to support in whatever way feels best aligned. Make a one-time or recurring contribution Sponsor an artist’s journey through coheART Share this campaign with your networks, communities, or aligned organizations Follow and uplift the stories and projects that emerge from the coheART experience Each act of support helps build the foundation for a more just and creative world. Looking Ahead We envision a future where DSS artists are not only resourced with tuition-free access but also with fellowships, paid residencies, and community infrastructure that can support their work in the long term. The IDEA Scholarship Fund is part of that larger vision. Thank you for tending this with us.
