Since 2012, CaroYacu has supported Indigenous children and youth in the Colombian Amazon with educational tools and scholarships for higher education, while honoring their ancestral knowledge.

What we do

  • School kits: every year we deliver complete school kits to students in remote communities, traveling by river and small plane to reach them.
  • Higher education: we support Indigenous students pursuing university and technical studies, from a one-time grant for transportation to a required practicum to full tuition, housing, and food for an entire program.
  • Teachers: direct support for the classroom projects that teachers create for their own students.

Our 2026 impact

  • 11,140+ Indigenous students received complete school kits
  • 168 Indigenous communities reached
  • 11 Indigenous students supported in higher education
  • 41 rivers traveled and 16 remote air strips used

What your gift makes possible

  • About $15 delivers one school kit
  • About $150 covers one month of higher-education support
  • About $500 funds a teacher's classroom project

We work hand in hand with territorial authorities and local communities, respecting their decisions and recognizing Indigenous students as leaders of their own future.
