Artists’ Television Access is a San Francisco-based, artist-run, non-profit organization that cultivates and promotes culturally-aware, underground media and experimental art. We provide an accessible screening venue and gallery for the presentation of programmed and guest-curated screenings, exhibitions, performances, workshops and events. We believe in fostering a supportive community for the exhibition of innovative art and the exchange of non-conformist ideas.

Help Us Make the Match

We see you community (and so does an anonymous donor)! We are humbled and grateful for the outpouring of support for ATA's rent emergency , and have been encouraged by an anonymous donor to continue our campaign to the $75K mark, allowing us to enter 2026 with the resources we need to make rent and continue our planning for sustainability. The donor has committed to matching every dollar we raise between now and the end of the year, which would give ATA an extra $30K to bank for 2026 rent. If you've given already, thank you! We ask that you help us by spreading the word about your gift and encouraging others to come through.

ATA Rent Emergency

Artists Television Access has served artists for 40 years with a radical approach to access. Our storefront microcinema at 992 Valencia Street has served thousands of artists across all points of their careers, and served thousands of audiences seeking culturally-aware, underground media and experimental art. Run entirely by artist volunteers, ATA fosters a supportive community for the exhibition of innovative art and the exchange of non-conformist ideas. And we can't pay rent. ATA's landlord has been accepting partial rent since 2024, an act of compassion that has concluded. Worn too thin financially to continue in our current state, we have negotiated for rent forgiveness and a payment plan while doing the existential work of designing how ATA will sustainably serve community in the future. Right now this means being a full partner to all the collectives who inhabit 992 Valencia Street: Other Cinema, Right Window, and 3rd i. Our ability to stay in place into 2026 is critical for these collectives and critical to us. Please help us. Today, we are asking for your support to help us to meet our obligations. We have a back rent payment of $45,000 due in December, and rent of $5,657.73 due in November and again in December. We are covering utilities with box office, facility rental fees, employee matching grants, and general operating support from San Francisco Grants for the Arts. Donations in any amount matter! We thank you for your support. ¡viva ATA!

I cannot imagine SF without ATA. So many nights. So many events. So many shows played at this Mission institution. Thank you!

I wandered into an Other Cinema show in 1990 and it was a transformative experience. ATA/Other Cinema has always stood opposed to the gross and creepy dominant narratives of the culture, and it would be a huge loss to San Francisco if it we...

Thank you ATA and Craig for screening my short film, From the Same Family: An Intimate View of Globalization when I first moved to S.F., it meant so much to a young filmmaker. I'm happy to contribute, thank you!

I lived, worked, created and thrived at ATA for 8 years from the day we first moved into 992 in 1987. This donation is in memory of Lise Swenson and Arda Ishkanian. ATA must live. Or else.

Their website says it all, but I’ll add ATA was a key part of the art and film scene when I started hanging out in the city in the 80s. SF will lose a huge part of its cultural heart without ATA.

Can Jeremy Rourke do another performance of "I'll be Around-30 years of Artist Television Access?" So everyone can see why this place matters so much?!
