Communities in Mali face urgent climate challenges, including land degradation, deforestation, food insecurity, and the vulnerability of women and youth whose livelihoods depend on natural resources. ADCE Mali is a youth- and women-led nonprofit organization advancing sustainable agriculture, agroforestry, renewable energy, and green innovation to build climate resilience and create sustainable livelihoods.
Since its founding in 2020, ADCE Mali has trained more than 1,100 young people in climate-smart entrepreneurship, supported over 25 green start-ups, and helped create more than 300 green jobs. The organization also works with women’s cooperatives to develop value-added products from moringa, baobab, hibiscus, and ginger, strengthening incomes while promoting sustainable natural resource management.
Our community-led approach places rural women and youth at the center of decision-making, ensuring local ownership and lasting impact. Working with schools, cooperatives, and grassroots organizations, ADCE Mali promotes climate education, ecosystem restoration, and youth leadership across Mali.
Looking ahead, ADCE Mali aims to restore degraded land through agroforestry, expand renewable energy solutions for smallholder farmers, and strengthen youth- and women-led green enterprises. Led by Executive Director Lalla Aïcha Guindo, recognized by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) as a continental youth leader on climate mobility (2025–2026), the organization is well positioned to scale its impact.
