American Jewish World Service (AJWS) is the leading Jewish organization working to fight poverty and defend human rights in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean. We respond to pressing global issues—from disasters, authoritarianism and the climate crisis, to the persecution of women and minorities worldwide. With Jewish values and a global reach, AJWS is making a difference in millions of lives.
AJWS employs a three-part strategy to multiply our impact: We fund social change organizations working on key areas of human rights. We accompany our grantees with coaching, skill-building and resources, and bring them together to scale up their work and strengthen social movements. Meanwhile, in Washington and internationally, we advocate for laws and policies that promote global human rights. Together, we strive to bring a more just and equitable world closer for all.
