Yerusha: Professional Development Program The year-long program, now in its second year, distinguishes itself from other Jewish professional development opportunities in that the operative language is Polish and all workshop facilitators are based in Poland. Resource and Educational Materials The Taube Center has developed a sophisticated set of resource materials in several languages that support our educational programs and are especially valuable for our study tour program. Empowering Holocaust Survivors and their children to find family and reclaim their histories  through the power of DNA testing.

The mission of the Holocaust Reunion Project is to harness the power of commercial DNA testing, combined with expert genealogical research, both to reunite Holocaust survivors and their children with living relatives and to illuminate the family history that has been lost to genocide. DNA can unlock mysteries and make crucial connections, often linking survivors to living relatives they did not know they had. DNA matches can also open the door to help survivors reconstruct their shattered trees and reclaim their lost history, often reconnecting lines of communication severed by the Holocaust.

We distribute free DNA kits to Holocaust survivors and their children; provide free consultation services to survivors and their children; and offer educational opportunities to shed light on the possibilities of genetic genealogy for the survivor community.

Your donation will help us run the program, including providing DNA kits to Holocaust survivors and their children, ordering pertinent records for families, and hiring translators and local genealogists to optimize our research.

Our program features a fully flexible curriculum with options for both full-time and part-time students. An experiential and interdisciplinary 7-12th school program based on the tenets of Torah V’Avoda at the foothills of Mount Carmel

Kol Tzofayich, located in the majestic mountains of northern Israel, offers a truly one-of-a-kind school experience. This hands-on, camplike educational phenomenon has quickly grown from 28 to over 200 students in just four years. Offering customized, experiential education, students learn directly how each subject relates to real-world applications and situations. The study of math, for example, is in tandem with cabinetry design, while chemistry is experienced through culinary arts and cosmetology. “We unite real-world experience and classroom academics on a moment-by-moment basis,” says school founder Yehuda Rothner, a dynamo in the education world who was known globally for his phenomenal success running Camp Stone in the U.S. Those worlds must converge on a daily basis holistically in school. In the summer of 2024 we have provided scholarships to [45 teens in our community](https://vimeo.com/653872256) to attend Jewish overnight camps and retreats, and we've partnered with 13 premier Jewish day camps in the Bay Area to provide [192 scholarships for Jewish youth and teens](https://vimeo.com/782647969) from all over Bay Area to attend Jewish camps where they learn more about Jewish heritage, history and Israel, our homeland.

The Fondation pour le musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (Pro mahJ), in Paris, was created in 2003 on the initiative of Claire Maratier, daughter of painter Michel Kikoïne (1892-1968), to promote the work of artists from the École de Paris and mobilize its resources in support of the mahJ. As an essential supporter of the enrichment of the mahJ's collections and the promotion of its heritage and activities, the foundation is committed to supporting contemporary artists whose work is rooted in the École de Paris and resonates with the mahJ's collections.
Your support will help preserve one of the finest collections of works of art and objects illustrating the heritage of Jewish culture in Europe and around the Mediterranean, from Antiquity to the present day, preserved and hosted by the musée d'art et d'histoire du Judaïsme (mahJ), as well as strengthening the museum's activities, particularly its educational initiatives. Associação Hagadá (Hagadá Association) was created on July 25th 2019. Its objective is to promote and carry on the activities necessary for the creation, establishment and operation of an institution with museological functions in Lisbon - The Tikvá Museu Judaico Lisboa (Jewish Museum of Lisbon). Also, it aims to enrich and preserve the associated cultural heritage, display the Jewish experience and culture, as well as the role of Portuguese Jews in the history of Lisbon and Portugal, and in the Diaspora. Associação Hagadá (Hagadá Association) will perform the following main activities: - Creation and establishment of the Tikvá Museu Judaico Lisboa (Jewish Museum Lisbon); - Ensure that the Tikvá Museu Judaico Lisboa (Jewish Museum Lisbon) fulfils its role as a museum; - Promote, organize and publicise exhibitions, talks, debates and conferences; - Promote the collection and preservation of sources essential to the awareness of Portuguese Jewish history and the Jewish cultural heritage existing in Portugal; - Promote actions intended to encourage citizenship and human rights; - Promote actions intended to combat all forms of discrimination, based in particular on race, ethnicity and religious intolerance and appreciating cultural and religious differences as the heritage of Humanity; - Promote actions intended to preserve the Jewish cultural heritage existing in Portugal; - Perform educational activities; - Support and encourage research and the development of Jewish studies in Portugal and about Portugal; - Promote publications related to Jewish cultural heritage.

 Jewish Culture Festival Ass

Jewish Culture Festival Association in Krakow (Stowarzyszenie Festiwal Kultury Zydowskiej) , established in 1988, is the largest presentation of contemporary Jewish culture from Israel and the entire Diaspora, held in Kazimierz - Jewish quarter of the city.   From small local event, the festival has grown into the largest and most famous presentation of contemporary Jewish Culture from Israel and the entire Diaspora. Every year more than 30,000 people from all over the globe are coming to Kazimierz to experience more than 100 various artistic and educational events, that include: concerts, DJ-parties, performances, lectures, discussions, visual art events, guided tours, workshops, special programs for kids and for the senior citizens. The key event of each edition of the festival, a symbol or trade mark of our festival is 7-hours long, open-air concert under the title Shalom on Szeroka Street. Recorded and broadcast by Polish Television it has been one the most popular concert in Poland, that attracts some 15,000 people in the audience. The mission of the festival is to reintroduce Jewish culture to Poland - once home for flourishing Jewish population. On one hand, we educate non-Jews and fight with prejudice, ignorance and any forms of anti-Semitism and hatred towards Jews by giving them a unique authentic 'Jewish experience'; on the other hand - we support growing Jewish community of Poland in finding and developing new Jewish identity and keep them in touch with Israel and the Jewish Diaspora worldwide.  As the first NGO in Poland, we launched an all year round program for volunteers called The Machers. Our volunteers not only help us in organization of the festival, but we also help them to get knowledge in many other fields (incl. cultural management, fundraising, etc.), offering them many workshops, lectures, study tours and other events. Since 2013 we have worked with volunteers from abroad and from 2017 - with senior volunteers. Every year we work with a group of 60 - 80 volunteers.

Our work is directed against Antisemitism and xenophobia. 

The organization is an NGO and located in the small town of Breisach with now 15.000 inhabitants in the southwest corner of Germany on the border to Alsace/France on the Rhine river. The Swiss border is only 60 km to the south. 

The organization was founded in 1999 with the aims 1. to purchase the former Jewish school building (built before 1690), 2. to renovate it and 3. to use it according to its historical importance. The building is located in the former Jewish lane, in walking distance to the former synagogue and the older of two Jewish cemeteries. Jews had lived in this quarter between 1640 and 1940. 



The mission according to the statutes is to develop new relationships with Holocaust survivors and their descendants and to work together for a full documentation of the histories of about 250 Jews who had lived here before the Nazi persecution began 1933. They had either become refugees or victims of one of the first deportations in October 1940 to Southwest France (Camp de Gurs). Of those deported the majority became in 1942 and after victims of the deportations from France to Auschwitz concentration camp. 



Again and again groups of Holocaust survivors and their descendants returned to what was once their "Heimat" to commemorate the Jewish community which had been destroyed. They became part of a network: the "Overseas members" or "Friends of the Blue House" and could follow the organization making progress in building up a vibrant institution. During each of those group visits to Breisach the program was partially focussing on interaction with young German people (students), most of them have never met a Jewish person.

 

After finishing the renovation of the historical building in 2003 a 15 year period of volunteer work began with lectures, concerts, guided tours and research. From 2017 on the Blue House staff began to professionalize its reach out to young people and improve its pedagogical work using the archival sources for teaching personal stories. This was made possible with the financial support of a Foundation helping to create a part-time  job for a mediator for historical education and cultural transmission.

Since 2019 the museum can be visited: "Jewish life in Breisach in 1931" where the everyday life of a Jewish family with two children can be experienced by exploring a small number of objects on display and listening to radioplays (German/English). An exhibition is permanently installed in the Blue House garden (created by the House of the Wannsee Conference Berlin) dealing with the history of the deportation of the southwestern German Jews to Camp de Gurs in 1940 in the context of the Nazi occupation of France (German/French). Information about the history of the Jews of Breisach (1640-1940) was added and about how the Nazis turned Breisach into a dangerous place for Jews after 1933. A special focus was directed on the role of the Breisach railway bridge, across which seven trains with more than 5600 Jews were deported on October 22, 1940 after having been arrested in their houses, expropriated, taken to a train station and forced into a train directed towards the city of Freiburg and from there to Breisach and across the river Rhine into occupied France. A second grant by a Federal institution (2020-2022) was used to deepen the historical research, to create materials for teaching and to design a digital handbook as a short introduction to the Gurs deportation using the example of the Breisach Jews (as one of 138 places where Jews were rounded up). In summer of 2023 forty Jewish guests from five countries, their families originating in Breisach, shared the celebration of 20 years of the Blue House. A week-long program was prepared and executed with many highlights especially guests meeting students from Breisach and Freiburg. 



The organization has turned in the application for another grant (April 2024 - December 2025) to bring together French and German students to explore the differences of their narratives about the years of Nazi occupation of Alsace. For the 80th anniversary of the end of WW II, the installation of a democratic Germany in 1945 and the development of strong friendly ties between France and Germany a special celebration is in planning for the Breisach bridge. French and German students will work together in a Dance project (under the guidance of Battery Dance Company NY director Jonathan Hollander) creating choreographies and a special choreography for the Breisach bridge. With their participation the young generation will support the plans for a new railroad "bridge for the future" and put emphasis on the strong bond between the youth of both countries.
