For my birthday this year, I'm asking friends and family to join me in supporting American Jewish World Service (AJWS) — an organization close to my heart that is empowering grassroots organizers and defending human rights around the world.
AJWS is a grantmaking organization that partners directly with local activists and community leaders in over 15 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the Caribbean who are on the ground promoting civil & political rights, sexual health & rights, land, water, & climate justice, and humanitarian & disaster response.
Your donation of any size helps fund grassroots movements, empower women and LGBTQ+ people, and protect communities facing persecution or displacement. As a trustee of AJWS, I've been able to meet incredible grantee partners leading the fight for LGBTQ+ rights in Kenya, delivering critical healthcare supplies when need is exacerbated by U.S. foreign aid cuts, and standing up for human rights in El Salvador. Please join me in supporting these and many more heroes fighting every day for a more just and compassionate world.
