Africa contributes about 4% of global emissions, and just 1.6% when South Africa is excluded, yet its people face some of the harshest climate impacts. Still, across the continent, communities hold deep ecological knowledge, powerful ingenuity, and proven solutions. What holds them back is not ideas but unequal access to visibility, resources, and decision-making power.

AfroClimate exists to change that.

We seek to amplify and directly invest in Africa’s visionary climate innovators; including community-based organizations, youth groups, and climate-tech entrepreneurs who are restoring ecosystems, strengthening livelihoods, and building resilience from the ground up.

In our approach, we start with communities. We co-create solutions with partners who already understand their land, their people, and the climate challenges they face. We have six pillars to support grassroots innovations to become scalable models of climate resilience and climate justice: capacity building, funding access, impact measurement, market linkages, visibility & storytelling, and specialist mentorship.

With our footprint across 10 African countries, and a network of partners such as PowerStove in Nigeria, Mena Tsook in Madagascar, and Green World Campaign in Kenya, we have achieved remarkable progress in just one year: improving over 50,000 lives, preserving thousands of trees, installing 100 beehives, raising over $700,000 in investment, and advancing clean energy, conservation, and sustainable livelihood solutions across the continent.

When you give to AfroClimate, you are fueling leadership that is restoring ecosystems in Africa and championing a climate-resilient future led by those closest to the solutions.

Join us in scaling community-driven climate action across the continent.

Restore & Strengthen Kenya's Coastal Livelihoods

AfroClimate is partnering with one of our great collaborations, Green World Campaign Kenya (GWCK) to restore mangroves and support smallholder farmers along Kenya’s coast. Coastal communities face rising seas, degraded soils and unstable harvests. Mangrove forests, which protect shorelines, support fisheries and store carbon, are being lost, while farmers not only struggle with depleted soils and the changing climate, but also forced displacement. GWCK is a community-based nonprofit that has been working since 2011 in Kenya to restore land, improve climate resilience and strengthen livelihoods through agroforestry, environmental education and community development. We aim to raise 50,000 dollars which will allow us to : Restore 50 hectares of degraded mangrove forest in coastal Kenya • Train 300 smallholder farmers in climate-smart agroforestry and provide 30,000 biodiverse tree seedlings • Create 20 school eco clubs and community events, engaging approximately 3,000 students and residents in climate education AfroClimate will raise and steward funds, mentor GWCK on impact measurement and storytelling, and amplify this community-led work with a wider network of partners through shared case studies and learnings. By directing your donation to GWCK this year, you are supporting coastal communities restore their ecosystems, protect their coastlines and build more resilient livelihoods. Impact of your donation Your Gift in Action: Choose Your Impact $10 Launch a Mangrove's Life Your gift provides 10 native mangrove seedlings and the training for a coastal community member to plant and nurture them. This is the first step in rebuilding Kenya's natural sea wall and creating a nursery for fish. Impact: You are helping to restore the foundation of the entire coastal ecosystem. $100 Train a Climate-Smart Farmer Your donation fully trains and equips one smallholder farmer in climate-smart agroforestry. They will receive 100 fruit and timber tree seedlings and training to transform their plot into a diverse, productive, and resilient source of food and income for their family. Impact: You are providing the seed for a family to build a drought-resistant livelihood and grow their way out of poverty. $500 Launch a School Eco-Club You will establish a full-year School Eco-Club for 30 students, providing all the seedlings, tools, and educational materials needed. This club nurtures the next generation of environmental stewards through hands-on planting and climate education. Impact: You are inspiring and equipping 30 young minds to become lifelong champions for their environment. $1,000 Restore an acre of Coastline Your leadership gift will restore and protect one full acre of mangrove forest. This community-driven project covers everything from seedlings to stewardship, creating a vibrant habitat that protects the shoreline and supports local fisheries. Why this matters Green World Campaign Kenya has long-standing relationships with coastal communities and focuses on practical, community-driven solutions. AfroClimate is supporting this work as part of our mission to strengthen African-led climate action and uplift local innovators. We aim to raise 50,000 dollars to support mangrove restoration, smallholder farmer training and youth climate education along Kenya’s coastline. Any money raised will be the catalyst for this critical partnership and community-led action.

Tremendous to see the impact AfroClimate has had from inception to establishing a presence in Kenya (AND Mauritius and Madagascar) over just a couple of years. Imagine what can be done together in a decade. This is just the beginning!
