At Jordan River Village, our mission has been unwavering for years: to create a haven for children facing serious illnesses and disabilities, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment from which they can heal and thrive. The profound impact of our commitment to emotional well-being is evident in the lives of over 30,000 children we have touched.
The Village is able to give these children the opportunity to forget they are sick, experience the joys of childhood, create friendships with children just like them, and learn lessons that change their lives.
The Village is located in Israel’s Galilee, but we accept children from all over Israel. Our campers live with a variety of serious and chronic illnesses including: cancer, Cerebral Palsy, Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, Cystic Fibrosis, Epilepsy, Familial Dysautonomia, heart/cardiovascular diseases, Hemophilia, Type 1 Diabetes, heart, kidney and liver transplants, neurological disorders, rheumatic diseases, severe asthma, trauma victims, burn victims, and other conditions.
These campers represent the range of Israeli society—rich and poor, Jewish and Arab Israeli, Hebrew and Arabic speakers, religious and secular, as well as those whose diseases can be seen and those who look completely healthy. Since the Village was founded as an apolitical organization with a principle that ALL children deserve to experience childhood, no child is ever turned away because of race, religion, ethnicity, or socio-economic level.
