Acceso is an award-winning social enterprise that is revolutionizing food systems in Latin America and the Caribbean to put smallholder farmers first. Acceso’s mission is to create fundamental and lasting positive economic change in the lives of rural smallholder farming families.

Acceso’s seed-to-market holistic approach links smallholder farmers directly to stable, high-value markets. This model addresses the core issues that undermine agricultural productivity and market access by providing comprehensive support across the entire production and commercialization cycle. Acceso’s model combines:  

• Technical Assistance: Farmers receive specialized training on crop management, market standards, and climate-smart practices both in person and via Extensio, Acceso’s “Digital Field Agent.” 

• Access to Inputs on Credit: Affordable, flexible credit allows farmers to access high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and other inputs without upfront financial burdens. 

• Commercialization Support: Acceso ensures farmers have reliable access to formal markets, providing fair prices and consistent demand for their products. This includes logistical support, quality control, and aggregation of products for buyers. 

To date, Acceso has served over 35,000 farmers across Colombia, El Salvador, Haiti and Guatemala, and has generated $90 million in sales of farmer production, providing farmers with a fair and consistent income and generating economic mobility in struggling rural communities.
