Founded in 1989, Currumbin Wildlife Hospital is one of the busiest wildlife hospitals in the world. This not-for-profit charity treats, rehabilitates, and releases sick, injured, and orphaned native Australian wildlife - while leading research to prevent wildlife from needing hospital care.
Every year, the wildlife hospital’s vets, vet nurses, and volunteers admit around 15,000 patients, covering 275 native Australian species.
All services are provided free of charge, relying on the dedication of staff and volunteers, and the support of donors, to deliver lifesaving care to every wildlife patient.
With 150 volunteers and 15 experts, the hospital combines critical patient care with world-leading research to protect Australia’s unique wildlife.
