UNICEF is reaching children in Somalia and is using all avenues available get supplies into some of the hardest-hit areas. UNICEF is the single largest agency delivering therapeutic and supplementary nutrition services in Somalia and has mounted a massive scale up of its operations. Somalia is the Horn of Africa's most drought-stricken country. Extreme drought has affected about 3.2 million people, with 245,000 relocated in search of food, water, and pasture. Water scarcity and lack of access to sanitation and hygiene facilities have heightened the risk of disease outbreaks, particularly in IDP camps and conflict areas. Desertification, increasing urbanization, hunger and malnutrition are all impacts of climate change.

As conflict escalates in Ukraine, UNICEF is on the ground reaching children with water, health and education services.

UNICEF has saved more children's lives than any of the international children’s charities. Other organizations help children, but UNICEF does more by fighting for children’s rights and delivering the essentials every child needs for an equitable chance in life.
