Town Bizness
Organized volunteers providing outreach to unhoused folks with urgent relief: warmth, food, humanity, and connection to services.
Town Bizness exists to bring the necessities of a dignified human life to the unhoused population of Oakland and Berkeley, CA.
These necessities include good food, reliable shelter, clothing, toiletries, bedding, and basic creature comforts such as safe propane stoves and heaters, radios, and more, depending on each client’s needs.
We also assist with housing, and keeping folks connected to service providers by supplying telephones and monthly service.
The majority of folks we serve were born where they now live in tents, and once had property ownership in their families here in the bay area, but no longer do. Most are seniors, and many of them are now sick and/or disabled.

Omar and China's Housing Transition
China and Omar were promised housing after Mosswood, but it never came through. Now they’ve been forced to leave with little support. Omar just completed 6 years of probation, and this has been incredibly stressful. They need help getting through this transition. China also needs a mobility scooter for her injured knee (about $400), plus basic supplies. We’re raising $800 total. Every bit helps them stay stable and keep moving forward.

Motel relief fundraiser
Robert is the primary beneficiary of our motel fund right now. He just turned 74. His health is fragile, but having a roof over his head has transformed his quality of life. We're raising $3,000 to keep Robert in his motel room for the next two months while he waits for permanent housing. Before we got him indoors, ambulance trips to the hospital were constant. Since moving into the motel, he hasn't spent a single day hospitalized. And despite everything, Robert still gives back. Whenever we deliver relief bags, he's out there with his broom 🧹 sweeping the sidewalks around the encampments because he believes it's his job to help keep the neighborhood clean. 💛 Thank you for helping us keep Robert safe until housing comes through.
