Triangle Off-Road Cyclists (TORC) is a nonprofit dedicated to advocating for trails and building and maintaining trails across the Triangle.

TORC is the Triangle area chapter of Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association (SORBA) and was founded in August 2005. As a chapter, when you join TORC you're automatically joining SORBA and you're supporting both the Triangle but also trails across the Southeast.

We schedule trail workdays throughout the year to build new trail or maintain existing trails. These workdays offer volunteers the opportunity to invest into our trail designs and for land owners to benefit from our sustainable approach.

Help TLC and TORC replace the Brumley South bridge!

On July 7th, 2025 Tropical storm Chantal dumped so much rain on our area that overwhelmed much of the drainage infrastructure for the surrounding counties. The volume of water dumped on our area washed out culverts and bridges on a number of roads throughout the western edge of the triangle, it destroyed and moved bridges across well loved trail systems, and ultimately destroyed the main bridge connecting the trails at Brumley South between the trail access from the parking lot on Mt. Hope and the intermediate/advanced loops of Springhouse, Buckeye, and Quartz. https://triangleland.org/blog/trail-status-post-chantal TLC has been working with TORC and all stakeholders to restore that access for the property, but rebuilding a bridge of that size takes time, engineering, and resources. Projected cost for replacement will be in excess of $70,000 and could be as high as $100,000+ with a project timeline of 12 months if the funding is raised and all permitting goes smoothly. A project of this size is typically planned and engineered years out... we want to shorten that timeline as much as possible and this fundraiser helps with that goal! The goal of this fundraiser is to show your love and support to TLC with whatever you can afford to help with their effort to replace the bridge and restore trail access for everyone. Every dollar donated will go directly to TLC once the campaign is completed and I will provide whatever updates TLC can share about the progress of replacing the bridge. I am one of the trail coordinators for TORC that is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the singletrack at Brumley South, so I have a personal stake in this and want nothing more than to restore the trails to their full access as soon as possible!
